With fuel availability varying across regions, planning and prioritisation are becoming increasingly important.

Some landholders are reviewing operations to:
๐Ÿšœ prioritise essential activities
๐Ÿ” reduce unnecessary passes
๐Ÿ“… align operations with seasonal opportunities

Local Land Services can provide practical advice, and there are a range of online resources to support decision-making:

๐Ÿฆœ๐ŸŒฟ The Barray Alliance's Indigenous Rangers are out and about in Forster and Taree, running a Common Myna (Acridotheres tristis) control programme to help protect our native species.๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

The Common Myna was named one of the worldโ€™s top 100 worst invasive species (IUCN, 2000). In Australia, these birds are a real threat to local wildlife, pushing native birds out of their homes and sometimes even destroying eggs and chicks because of their territorial behaviour and nest competition. Theyโ€™re known to stick with their mate and fiercely defend the same patch year after year.๐ŸฆโŒ

Got Common Mynas on your property? Want a hand removing these pest animals to give our native birds a fair go? Reach out to Jonno at [email protected] for more info.๐Ÿ“ง๐Ÿค
