♻️ Kerbside Bin Audit Underway This June

Throughout June, Muswellbrook Shire Council has engaged an independent Waste Audit Consultant to conduct a kerbside bin-by-bin waste audit across the Shire.

The audit helps Council better understand what materials are being placed in household red, yellow and green bins. The information collected is used to improve waste education programs, inform future waste strategies and contribute to state-wide waste planning.

Properties will be selected at random and residents do not need to do anything differently – simply place your bins out as usual on collection day.

If your property is selected, the consultant will collect a sample of waste from your bin before collection. The contents will be placed into a bag and transported to a sorting facility for analysis. Your bin will remain at your property at all times.

Council and the consultant have strict privacy protocols in place to protect residents' information. No names, addresses or identifying details are attached to waste samples, and all audit staff are subject to confidentiality requirements.

🔗 If you would like to learn more about how the audit works, visit Council's website.

👉 If you wish to opt out of the audit, please contact Muswellbrook Shire Council on 02 6549 3700 or email [email protected].
