Muswellbrook Library will be closed from 1:30pm today, Wednesday 24th June due to unforeseen circumstances.

Denman Library will remain open until 4pm.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Muswellbrook Library will reopen tomorrow morning from 10am.

Join us for Rhyme Time from 10am Monday morning at Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries. Sing some songs and join with fun stories!

Thursday:
Join us at Muswellbrook Library for Story Time from 10am, join in with songs, stories and hands on crafts.

Keep an eye out for the Library Car making home deliveries in Muswellbrook this week. If you would like a delivery, please contact Muswellbrook Library on 6543-1913.

Our activities are inclusive. Please contact Muswellbrook or Denman library if you would like to discuss any supports for your family prior to attending.

Join Paula J Beavan in talking about her latest book: ‘Rebel Spirits’!

Set against the rugged Australian bush of the 1860s, Rebel Spirits is a story of resilience, loyalty, and the cost of choosing love when survival is on the line! Irish immigrant Ellen Maguire is struggling to hold her family together as their roadside inn, The Harp and Hound, slides toward ruin. With the railway bypassing their village and her father lost in grief, Ellen turns to an illicit solution — distilling poteen from her grandmother’s old remedy book. When injured Englishman Jack Bell stumbles into her life searching for his missing niece, Ellen offers him shelter, unaware that his mission is entwined with her own growing danger.

Paula J Beavan has been an avid reader since childhood, growing up on a small property in the Hunter Valley, where she rode horses, mustered cattle, and listened to the stories of local farriers, cattlemen, and farmers. A serendipitous discovery of family connections to early settler William Harpur of Oswald, along with a link to a transported convict assigned to a property near Singleton, deepened her curiosity about the past and inspires her writing today!

The Upper Hunter Writer's Collective 🖋

Join the Upper Hunter Writers Collective at the Muswellbrook Library each month for motivation, support and feedback from others who have a passion for writing.
Even if you don’t plan on sending work out to publishers, but just enjoy writing as a hobby, this group is a way of sharing your love of the written word!

Come along on the third Tuesday of each month from 2PM – 5PM at Muswellbrook Library. Their next meeting will be on Tuesday, 16 June.
