📚👨‍⚖️👩‍⚖️ Year 12 Legal Studies Excursion
It was a very early start for our Year 12 Legal Studies students as they headed to Brisbane for a fascinating day at the Supreme and District Courts.
🏛️ Students explored the We, the Jury exhibition, learning more about the role of juries and the importance of representation in our justice system.
💚 They enjoyed a tour of the courtroom, including the opportunity to step behind the bench and see where the Judge presides, as well as sitting in the dock - somewhere we hope they never have to sit again!
🤍 Students also briefly observed the jury selection process before witnessing two sentencing matters in the Supreme Court. After a quick lunch, it was back to school.
💙 A fantastic day was had by all, with students making valuable connections between what they learn in the classroom and the practical workings of the legal system.

💛 R U OK? DAY – THURSDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2026 💛

R U OK? Day provides an important opportunity to remind our school community of the value of meaningful conversations and looking out for one another.

A simple question such as “Are you OK?” can open the door to a conversation that may make a significant difference to someone who is experiencing a difficult time.

We encourage our students, staff and wider school community to:

• Take the time to check in with others.
• Listen with care and without judgement.
• Offer support and encourage help when needed.
• Continue to check in and maintain connection.

We invite all students and staff to wear yellow tomorrow, Thursday 10 September, to show their support for R U OK? Day and help raise awareness of the importance of connection, conversation and wellbeing.
