A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this summer at Murrurundi Pool such a great one!
To all our patrons – thank you for bringing the good vibes all season long. Whether it was cooling off on a hot day or enjoying time with family and friends, it’s been awesome to see the pool so well used 🙌

To our incredible staff – your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude kept everything running smoothly all season. We really appreciate everything you do 💙

A special thank you to Rachel and Heidi – your patience, care, and commitment to helping kids build confidence and skills in the water is amazing. You’ve made a real impact on so many young swimmers and families in the community 🏊‍♀️👏

And to the Murrurundi community – thank you for your ongoing support and for making the pool such an important part of your summer.

This is what it’s all about – community, connection, and enjoying the water together.

After our Australia Day ceremonies in Scone and Merriwa, why not cool off and keep the day going at one of our FREE* Australia Day Pool Parties across the Shire. Sunshine, good company and plenty to keep the kids busy.

About us

Community Aquatics operates the three Upper Hunter Shire Council Pools (Murrurundi, Scone & Merriwa) positioned with views of beautiful rural scenery. Our facilities feature an outdoor 50m, 25m and child leisure pools, as well as progressive programs in Learn to Swim and Squad; Community Aquatics facilities is a community space catering for aquatics and leisure. Our experienced team of lifeguards, instructors and coaches inspires our community to live active healthy lifestyles in great facilities!

The role

As a Casual Lifeguard, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our customer experience and keeping our facilities safe. You will build great relationships with our members and provide supervision over numerous bodies of water, identifying and responding to potential risks in and around the water. This role will also see you managing water quality, plantroom functions, cleanliness tasks, operating point of sale systems, & hot food preparation.

About you

You will be a team player, natural communicator and have a strong commitment to the safety and well-being of our local community.

In addition, you will meet the following criteria:

• Willingness and ability to obtain Pool Lifeguard licence, First Aid & CPR Certificates
• Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Desirable

• Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Previous Lifeguard / supervision role
