๐Ÿ—ฃ๐ŸŽค Today Henry, Vivienne, Rosie and Marley participated in the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition. The competition was extremely high, with children from all around our zone participating.

Students had to present their prepared speech first, before then giving an impromptu speech about a given topic. The stage 2 impromptu topic was โ€˜troubleโ€™, while stage 3 had to talk about โ€˜boredomโ€™. All students represented MPS exceptionally well and we were commended on the high standard of public speaking we presented.

A big congratulations to Vivienne who placed first in the stage 2 competition, and to Rosie who received a highly commended. Vivienne will now represent our school at Regional final next term!

Brumbies Primary Schools 10s Championship ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ†

Last Friday, our Year 5/6 Rugby 10s team travelled to Canberra to Brumbies HQ to compete in the Brumbies Primary Schools 10s Championship. The team represented our school with outstanding determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.

We started strongly, winning our first two games. Our opening match was against St Edmund's 1, with a score of 10-5, followed by a win against Cooma North Public School, 20-0. The team then progressed to the next round where they faced Mater Dei Wagga, securing another impressive victory, 20-5.

These results earned our students a place in the Grand Final. The team played with tremendous heart, courage and resilience, giving everything they had until the final whistle. Despite a hard-fought effort, they were defeated by St Edmund's 1, 15-5.

A huge congratulations goes to all our players for the commitment, comradery and effort they displayed throughout the tournament. Mr Shean and I were incredibly proud of the courage, strength and teamwork shown by every member of the team. You represented our school with pride and fought right to the very end.

The Autumn Night Markets and Operation Art display were a wonderful celebration of creativity and community. A huge congratulations to all of our students for their incredible artworks - they looked absolutely fabulous displayed together on the wall for everyone to admire.

A very special thank you goes to our amazing SLSOs who worked so hard to hang the artworks and help set everything up for the Night Markets. Without your support and dedication, events like this would not be possible. A huge thank you also goes to our incredible P&C for serving dinner on the night. Your dedication, enthusiasm and ongoing support of our school community are always so greatly appreciated.

Thanks to the generosity and support of our school community, we were able to make a $420 donation to the Sydney Childrenโ€™s Hospitals Foundation.
