Over the last week of April, our PestFactsSA team has received multiple reports of Australian plague locusts across South Australia – from the Upper and Lower Mallee, Flinders Ranges, Eyre Peninsula, and the Riverland.

Do you know what to look for? Adult locusts have:
✔️fully developed wings
✔️ black spots on forewings and the tip of the hind wing
✔️ black spots and bright red to orange coloured shanks on the hind legs.

Locusts are a notifiable pest and must be reported to the Exotic Plant Pest Hotline on
📞 1800 084 881. Include information about the date, location, life stage and density of the infestation.

Reporting is essential to track locust activity across the state.
