Today, members from South Coast, Strathalbyn, Mount Barker and Murray Bridge and Districts State Emergency Service were out on the Murray Bridge Rescue boat (Murray Bridge 81) undertaking some Skills Maintenance Drills and Inductions for the marine crew members and Skippers.

While this has greatly increased our marine capabilities here in Murray Bridge and surrounds, we are still looking for new members to join our team and get involved πŸ˜€

A BIG THANKYOU to everyone for travelling down here today and offering their support in the future when needed and a special THANKYOU to Simon Klunyk for taking time out of his annual leave to coordinate the day πŸ‘

Tonight’s training session:
We had the opportunity to support some of the Strathalbyn SES members in refining their skills with the stokes litter. Following that, we moved on to a practical exercise involving a β€œlive” casualty, safely lowering them to the level below using ropes securely attached to the litter. We also practised the β€œhuman chain” method for moving a casualty up a staircase.

It was a great night of teamwork, learning, and skill development- there’s always something new to take away! 😊✌️
