It was an honour to serve the community as an elected Shire Councillor. Thank you to all the Shire staff and fellow Councillors as you enabled me to perform my duties to a higher level than I could have on my own.

My last advocacy as a Councillor was to ride 1000km over 8 days to raise money for the Wandering Warriors charity. As I am ex SASR, A cyclist and was a local government elected politician, then the event was a perfect fit for me - other than my lack of fitness.

Hi Members 👋 The BDCC is fortunate to have a social media platform and loyal members to spread the word about several events hosted here, and we're very grateful for that. We feel this particular event deserves the entire community's full support and promotion, so once again, we hope the power of the internet can do its thing ❤️

Project Disco - "Easy Beatz" has proven to be hugely successful in Mandurah, so the Byford & Districts Country Club is bringing it to town! Why should they have all the fun, right?! This over 18's event provides a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for people with a disability who want to make social connections within the community. On the night, guests will be encouraged to make friends, enjoy a meal and check out our live DJ spinning the decks from 6pm 🎼

This is a completely free event but registration is mandatory. We'll even provide complimentary soft drinks and finger food to get the party started!

Support workers and carers are welcome (but please register your details via the ticket link). The Byford & Districts Country Club is fully wheelchair accessible. If the music gets too overwhelming or the dancing gets all too much, we have a large outdoor area for people to cool down and relax. Quiet rooms also available. No strobe lighting will be used.

If you'd like to attend but are nervous about putting yourself out there, please know that we would LOVE to have you here. There will be lots of understanding and smiling faces to support you on the night. If you have any questions, please contact us on 9525 1276 or email '[email protected]'.

Inspired by EasyBeatz Mandurah, this event is sponsored by the BDCC and is supported by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, the City of Armadale, Maxima, 4LifeSkills and APM Communities.

I am thrilled to share here that my representing Shire residents resulted in a Horse Tunnel under the new Thomas Road Bridge, New Bridle trail Southward to Evans Way then connecting to Thatcher Road trail. Later fellow councillors supported another Notice of Motion for an additional new bridle trail connecting trails either side of the Trotting Complex.

I have volunteered to take a week off of work to cycle 1000km in the Pollie Pedal this October. The event is aimed at collecting donations for the Wandering Warriors to continue support of military veterans. Therefore, please consider supporting the cause by donating $10 or $20 as many contributions will highlight to politicians the public concern about how those who served need managing with transitioning back to civilian life.

We appreciate your generous support of Wandering Warriors! Thank you.
