Today we honour the almost 60,000 Australians who served in the Vietnam War.

We remember the 524 Australians who died during their service in Vietnam or as a result of that service, the thousands who were wounded, and all those who returned home carrying the physical and emotional scars of their service.

On Vietnam Veterans’ Day, we thank them for their service, courage and sacrifice.

A Liberal Government will cap tolls at $50 a week, delivering real cost-of-living relief for Victorian families.

For Peninsula locals who need to travel for work, study or family, often using EastLink and CityLink, this will make a real difference to the household budget.

If you’re spending $100 a week on tolls, you could save around $2,600 a year.

Labor promised to restore the historic Flinders Pier. Instead, they pulled up stumps halfway and walked away.

Today, the community turned out in force to say enough is enough.

Great to welcome local leaders from across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula to Parliament today to advocate for our region.

Together with Jess Wilson MP, David Southwick MP, Georgie Crozier MP and Chris Crewther MP, we met with representatives from the Committee for Frankston & Mornington Peninsula, Mornington Peninsula Shire and Frankston City Council to discuss the priorities that matter to our communities.

Better roads and public transport, Rosebud Hospital, housing and homelessness support, our coastal infrastructure, local jobs and greater investment in our region were all firmly on the agenda.

The Mornington Peninsula contributes enormously to Victoria, but for too long we haven’t received our fair share of investment.

Our team has a plan to repair and rebuild Victoria’s roads.

Under Labor, $15 billion has been lost to Big Build corruption while our roads are falling apart and motorists are being left thousands of dollars out of pocket.

A Liberal and Nationals Government will invest $5 billion to restore proper planned maintenance and fix roads, not just patch potholes.

It’s part of our team’s plan to reduce costs and deliver a government that works.

How good are Men’s Sheds?

Great to catch up with the crew at Rosebud & Districts Mens Shed INC.

There’s something pretty great about a bunch of blokes getting together, building things, sharing skills, having a laugh and enjoying a cuppa.

As Homelessness Week comes to an end, it’s been great to see so many local organisations, businesses and community leaders coming together for important conversations about homelessness across the Mornington Peninsula.

On Friday, I joined the Committee for Frankston & Mornington Peninsula’s Youth Homelessness Forum, one of several events held across our community throughout the week.

Homelessness is a complex issue and there are no easy answers. But bringing people together, sharing ideas and keeping the issue front and centre is an important part of finding better solutions.

Of course, it can’t just be about one week or one event. I’ve been working alongside local organisations and advocating for better homelessness services for years, and I’ll continue raising these issues in Parliament and fighting for better outcomes for people doing it tough.

Thanks to Josh and the CFMP team, and everyone who organised, attended and contributed to the conversations this week. There are so many great people across our community determined to make a difference.
