🎸 Outstanding Achievement for Our Classical Guitar Ensemble! 🎸

Congratulations to our Classical Guitar Ensemble members, who were awarded an Outstanding for their performance at the WA Schools Classical Guitar Ensemble Festival.

With 65 ensembles taking part in this annual event, the largest festival of its kind in the world, our students represented Eastern Hills with great pride both on and off the stage.

Well done to all students on this fantastic achievement! 👏🎶🌟

🎸 Our Classical Guitar Ensemble recently had the unique opportunity to learn from internationally acclaimed guitar educator Dr Paul Svoboda.

Having performed many of his solo and ensemble works, students were thrilled to work with Dr Svoboda as they prepared for the WA Classical Guitar Ensemble Festival. Thank you, Dr Svoboda, for sharing your expertise and inspiring our young musicians. 🎶

Congratulations to Year 10 Media students Dean T, Toby G and Hamish O, who represented Eastern Hills Senior High School by creating and submitting a film for the Focus on Ability Short Film Festival.

They worked very hard on their film, "Insomnia", which was made outside of their required work in the class.

☀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ It was all systems go for our Inter-house Athletics Carnival today!

What a perfect day for a carnival. We've seen fantastic participation, plenty of encouragement, some amazing Dynamic Duo costumes from our Year 12s and staff, and lots of personal bests smashed along the way.

With a few records potentially under threat, it's been a great day of house spirit, teamwork and fun. Well done to everyone getting involved! 🏅🎉

📚 What a fantastic way to wrap up Book Week 2026!

Congratulations to our Design a Bookmark Competition winners and thank you to every student who submitted an entry, we were impressed by the creativity and effort shown.

We were also fortunate to welcome WA author Kate McCaffrey, who spoke with our Upper School ATAR English students and shared helpful strategies for tackling the composite section of their upcoming English exams.

A special thank you goes to Ms Glanvill and the entire English Department for their hard work and enthusiasm in organising such a successful Book Week. ✨📖

Bullying No Way Week 2026 💙

Last week, our students and staff got involved in a range of lunchtime activities to support Bullying No Way Week.

There was plenty of fun, encouragement and positive conversations as students came together to promote kindness, respect and inclusion. One of the highlights was our "Small Acts, Big Impact" Pledge Board, where students shared personal pledges about the small actions they can take to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Thank you to the Student Services team and everyone who participated and helped create a supportive school community.

Remember, even the smallest act of kindness can have a big impact. 💙

📚✨ Book Week has arrived at EHSHS! ✨📚

Our staff kicked off the celebrations in style today, dressing up and battling it out for the title of Best Dressed Learning Area!

🌈 The English Learning Area transformed into the magical Emerald City from The Wizard of Oz.

🖍️ The Arts and Music team brought stories to life with costumes inspired by The Day the Crayons Quit, while Where's Wally? seemed to be popping up everywhere across the school!

🖤 The Student Services team embraced their spooky side, arriving as The Addams Family and delighting students and staff alike.

The excitement continues throughout the week with:
📖 A visit from acclaimed WA author Kate McCaffrey, who will be running a workshop for our Year 11 and 12 English ATAR students on Wednesday.
🔖 A Book Week Bookmark Competition for students, running all week.
🏆 Form Class Quiz Competitions, with the winning form to be crowned at the end of the week.

It's shaping up to be an incredible celebration of books, creativity and imagination. We can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings!

🎨 Congratulations to Year 11 student, Edie F on being selected to exhibit at HyperVision at the Midland Junction Arts Centre recently.

HyperVision is a youth-led program that supports young people to create, curate and celebrate arts and culture in their community, while showcasing emerging artists and their creative expression.

Having her ceramic artwork selected for this exhibition is a wonderful achievement and recognition of her creativity, skill and dedication. We are incredibly proud of Edie, well done.

🔥🇦🇺🇺🇸 EHSHS Proud 🇺🇸🇦🇺🔥

We are incredibly proud of former EHSHS student Josh Flynn, who today joined 45 other Western Australian firefighters heading to the United States for a 35-day deployment, supporting crews on the frontline as they battle the devastating wildfires in North America.

Josh’s commitment to serving others is certainly nothing new. In Year 12, Josh was awarded the EHSHS Citizenship Award in recognition of his outstanding service to our hills community. His story is something our school can be very proud of and a great reminder of the impact our students can have as they grow and find their own path.

We are so proud of you, Josh! Wishing you and the entire team a safe and successful deployment. ❤️🔥🇺🇸
