🎶 Mount Gambier is set to welcome the Regional and Remote Music Summit

More than 200 artists, music industry professionals, venue operators, festival organisers and creative industry leaders from across Australia will come together in Mount Gambier from 28 to 30 October 2026.

Delivered by MusicSA in partnership with City of Mount Gambier, the summit will put our city at the centre of national conversations about the future of music in regional communities.

Council is seeking feedback from community organisations, sporting clubs, service providers and residents as part of its Community Facilities Snapshot.

The project will provide a clearer picture of how facilities are currently used, where there may be gaps or future demand, and opportunities to make the most of community spaces.

Two surveys are open for current Council tenants and community organisations or groups with current or future space requirements.

Road reconstruction works will commence on Banksia Street, from Heath Street to Coolabah Street on Monday 19 October 2026.

The works are expected to continue for approximately nine weeks, subject to weather and site conditions.

Throughout the works period temporary traffic management measures will be in place with restricted on street parking and occasional delays. Motorists are requested to observe all traffic management signage and exercise caution when travelling in the vicinity of the works.

The project forms part of Council’s Road Reconstruction Program and are being undertaken to improve the condition, safety and longevity of the local road network.

A colourful community artwork celebrating 150 years since the proclamation of Mount Gambier came to life at BrickGambier, one LEGO piece at a time.

The Limestone Coast LEGO Users Group received $5,000 through Council’s Community 150 Celebratory Fund to create a collaborative LEGO mosaic of Centenary Tower.

Featuring more than 17,000 LEGO pieces, the mosaic was assembled by community members during the two day event, which coincided with BrickGambier's 10 year anniversary.

Participants each completed an individual section using a guided design before their piece was added to the larger artwork, gradually revealing the iconic landmark in LEGO form.
