Limestone Coast Landscape Board The Limestone Coast Landscape Board and staff work with local landholders and community groups.

The Limestone Coast Landscape Board is responsible for landscape management across the Limestone Coast in South Australia. Our Board members are Limestone Coast locals, who make decisions about regional investment in landscape management, with a back to basics approach and communities at the centre. Board staff work with local landholders, community groups, local government and industry, on practical, on ground projects. Our projects are based on four priorities: soil and land, water, pest plants and animals, and biodiversity. The Limestone Coast Landscape Board provides strategic leadership for our regions landscape management. We support all sectors of the community and all levels of government through administration of the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 .

🌱 Digging Deeper – Soils, Pastures and Productivity πŸͺ

Join us for a hands-on workshop in Tintinara exploring the secrets hidden below the surface of our sandy soils. As they say, when you're in a hole, stop digging... but for this workshop, we reckon it's worth making an exception.

Led by Sunlight Soil Strategists you will explore how sandy soils behave at depth and the management strategies that can help improve productivity and resilience. You’ll also hear and see the latest results from local Veldt grass nutrition demonstration trials, inspect soil pits extending more than a metre deep, and gain insights into nutrient and fertiliser management for productive pastures.

Make sure you register… We think you’ll dig the experience!

Event details:

πŸ•™ Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
πŸ“ Location: Tolmer Rocks Rd, Tintinara & 631 Woods Well Rd, Tintinara*

Variegated thistle? More like a variegated hassle!

This prickly pest reduces pasture productivity, makes grazing difficult for livestock and can spread rapidly across your property. Don't wait for seed to spread. Now is the time to act and avoid future hassles while plants are flowering and easier to identify. 🌱

πŸ‘‰ Unsure where to start?
Our local Landscape Officers can help you identify variegated thistle and discuss the best control options for your property: https://lc.landscape.sa.gov.au/advice-services/talk-to-us-today

Salvation jane? More like salvation pain! 😡
Sure, the flowers look pretty, but left unchecked, this invasive w**d can:

πŸ‘ Be toxic to livestock, particularly horses.
🌱 Reduce pasture productivity and compete with native vegetation.
πŸ’° Become costly to control.
🌾 Spread rapidly if allowed to set seed.

With spring in full swing and plants flowering across the region, now is the time to identify infestations and 'spring' into action before seed is set and the pain really sets in!

πŸ‘‰ Unsure where to start? Our local Landscape Officers can help you identify salvation jane and discuss the best control options for your property: https://lc.landscape.sa.gov.au/advice-services/talk-to-us-today
