🚧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞

Please be advised that the Kingsley CFS will be undertaking a training exercise in Allendale East on Sunday 25 October 2026 from approximately 8:00am – 2:00pm. The exercise will include live fires.

Community members are asked to please take care when accessing the parking facilities off Bay Road servicing the Allendale East Tennis Club and Allendale East Cave, as heavy vehicles and CFS personnel will be active in the vicinity.

🍃 Clean up in the lead up to Fire Danger Season

The SA Country Fire Service has announced that the upcoming Fire Danger Season will commence on 1 November 2026 for the Lower South East region.

In the approach, residents are encouraged to:
✅ Slash or mow long grass and remove cut material
✅ Ensure gutters are clear and free from debris
✅ Prune overhanging tree branches
✅ Mow, rake and w**d within 20 metres of your home
✅ Review your bushfire emergency plans

Some burning restrictions and permit requirements still apply to certain areas across the district, even outside of Fire Danger Season. To check if you need a permit, please visit Council’s website: https://www.slcc.sa.gov.au/services/fire-prevention,restrictions-and-permits

Happy International E-Waste Day! ♻️

Today is a chance to celebrate the positive impact our communities are making by keeping electronic waste out of landfill.

Over the past 12 months, Council’s Waste Transfer Stations have diverted 13.34 tonnes of e-waste:
• Port MacDonnell: 6.64 t
• Donovans: 1.45 t
• Carpenter Rocks: 3.10 t
• Tarpeena: 2.15 t

Thank you to our community for their ongoing efforts and responsible recycling!

🚧 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – PORT MACDONNELL

A section of Milstead Street from Charles Street to Bookey Street in Port MacDonnell will be closed between 7:00am and 11:00am on Thursday 15 October 2026.

The temporary amendment will allow for the use of large heavy machinery required for routine maintenance at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex. Local and emergency access will be created if required during the closure.

A section of Bayleys Road, Burrungule will be closed between 5:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday 10 October 2026.

The temporary amendment will allow for the Weedon Pastoral Burrungule 180 Short Course event to take place safely.
