Support doesn't clock off at 5pm, and neither do we.

For some participants, the need for care doesn't stop when the sun goes down. Whether it's help getting ready for bed, support through the night, or assistance first thing in the morning - overnight and 24-hour support ensures no one is ever left without the help they need.

At Help 2 Homes, our overnight support includes:

💡 Tip Tuesday — You don't have to be an expert to be an ally.

Being a good ally to someone with a disability doesn't require training, a certificate, or special skills.

It just requires a little awareness, and a willing heart. 💙

Here are 5 simple, everyday actions that make a real difference:

1️⃣ Talk directly to the person — not their carer or companion
2️⃣ Ask before you help — don't assume assistance is wanted
3️⃣ Be patient — don't rush, finish sentences, or talk over them
4️⃣ Use inclusive language — follow their lead on how they describe themselves
5️⃣ Include, don't accommodate — invite them in, not as an afterthought
