What do people reckon?

The shelved Three Points Bridge project connecting Nedlands, Bicton and Mosman Park has been revived by Nedlands mayor Leonie Browner at a WA Local Government Association meeting.

Ms Browner proposed the state government’s idea be reinvestigated as a potential solution to transport issues expected due to higher density development.

The project was first announced in 2018 as a 1.5km link from Point Resolution to Point Walter, and would extend to Chidley Point in Mosman Park.

Western suburb councils all have similar transport strategies and have been investigating ways to lower speed limits on their local roads to 40kmh.

“Most drivers don’t care what suburb they are in when they are commuting from A to B," Mayor Paul Shaw said.

“There needs to be integrated planning, particularly around the Stirling Highway corridor and train stations."
