Aboriginal Dance Workshop
On June 2 2026, students attended the Aboriginal Dance Workshop held at Moree Public School and presented by Brolga Dance Academy and The NSW DoE Arts Unit.
Throughout the day, students engaged in cultural activities through dance, songs, and storytelling. They enjoyed the opportunity to meet and learn alongside students from other schools while exploring a variety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dances.
The workshop provided a meaningful experience for students to celebrate culture, strengthen connections, and develop a deeper appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions.

On Wednesday 27th May, MEPS took part in National Simultaneous Storytime joining millions of children across Australia as they read the same picture book at the same time. The story, "Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller", inspires young readers to persist even when faced with doubt.

πŸ“š Moree East Public School Visit – 29 May 2026 πŸ“š

PDG Pam Pritchard, together with members of the Rotary Club of Turramurra and President Jenny May from the Rotary Club of Lane Cove, travelled to Moree to attend the Books in Homes Assembly at Moree East Public School.

The visit celebrated the Books in Homes Program, which both clubs proudly support. Through this wonderful initiative, every student at Moree East Public School received two new books in Term 1 to begin building their own home library, with additional books provided throughout Terms 2 and 3.

We were warmly welcomed by the school community and thoroughly enjoyed a traditional Indigenous dance performed by the students. Members also had the opportunity to read with students and share in the excitement of receiving their new books.

Books in Homes is about much more than simply providing books. The program encourages a love of reading, helps parents understand the importance of reading at home, and supports improved literacy outcomes for students. By giving children books to keep and cherish, we help create lifelong readers and learners.

Thank you to the staff, students and families of Moree East Public School for making us feel so welcome. It was inspiring to see firsthand the positive impact that the Books in Homes Program is having on young people and their communities.

πŸ“– Every book opens a new world of opportunity.

A huge thank you to the generous Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Turramurra for their continued support of Moree East Public School.

Through their incredible contribution, our students receive a total of six books each year, helping to foster a love of reading and learning. In addition, they have donated countless second-hand books and, over the years, have also provided stationery and writing books to support our students.

Your kindness and ongoing commitment make a real difference to our school community. The support you provide means so much to both our students and staff, and we are truly grateful for everything you do.

Thank you for helping our students live our school motto, Learning for Life. Your support is making a real difference every day.
