We are located in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia. Shepparton was also known as Solar City some years back. Our region is called Goulburn Valley, it is famous for it's fruits (peaches, pears, apricots, apples, plums), SPC-Ardmona fruit cannery and many dairy farms around. Radio Australia has made it's home here with huge transmitters and antenna arrays. We meet on the first Saturday of the month,

except January, at 1:00 pm in the Scout & Guide Complex, Echuca Rd, Mooroopna. Membership is not restricted to licensed amateur radio operators, anyone with interest in radios, electronics, and computers is welcomed to join in. The club is well equipped to cater for various ham radio operator's interests as well as provide facilities during JOTA. The club's radio repeater's have operated on Mt Wombat near Euroa since 1982, the call signs are all VK3RGV (Repeater Goulburn Valley). Its purpose is to provide communication during emergencies as well as to enable licensed hams to communicate throughout a large part of Victoria. It has an excellent coverage area extending from Melbourne to southern parts of NSW (New South Wales). Repeater's 6 Meter is 53.725Mhz, 2m frequency is 146.650 MHz, 70cm frequency is 439.775 MHz, D-Star 438.200 Mhz -5.4. The IRLP node was established on the 11th November 2006 , the node number is 6992. It operates on our 2M anologue repeater. The club's 70cm D-Star repeater was commissioned in September 2009 and operates with the callsign VK3RGV B. the frequencies are 438.200Mhz -5.4Mhz for tx. It is currently connected to the network with a node adapter but will have its own gateway in the not too distant future. To use this divice make sure you have RPT1 set to VK3RGV B. The club's HF net is at 7:00pm on Wednesday nights 3.620 + or - QRM. The club's 2m net follows starting at 8:00 pm on 146.650 Mhz (VK3RGV), all are welcome to take part. The WIA news rebroadcast can be heard on VK3RGV 2m Sunday nights at 7:30pm and the amateur radio. This rebroadcast has an automated callback facillity and controlled by Toby VK3PNF.
