Children's Week! This year's theme is: Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion.

Children’s Week starts this Saturday! 🎉

From 24 October to 1 November, communities across Australia are celebrating children and their rights. This year’s theme is every child’s right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion.

Toy libraries are a great place to see this in action. Many have dual-language toys, instruments, dolls and games from around the world, so more children can see their family reflected in play.

Committee Nominations are now open.
We need committee volunteers to ensure the future of the toy library. We are seeking nominations for secretary, assistant treasurer, grants officer and social media officer. Training and support is available to settle into each role.

The Tea Tree Gully Toy Library is a not for profit community organisation that has been serving the community since 1979. Our toy library lends to families a wide range of good quality resources suitable for young children aged 0-12 years and for all children with additional needs. We aim to:

The Toy Library will be open during this exciting event. This Saturday 1:30 to 3:30pm. This is a special opening time just for this event. If you have always wanted to see what the toy library is about or love the toy library please come and say HI 👋

We are very excited for the official launch of our new children's area at the Tea Tree Gully Library! ✨

At the event on Saturday 25 July at 1.30pm, you can look forward to:

📚 Story time with author and illustrator Shane Meyer
🦄 Face painting
🎀 Craft activities
🌳 Meeting the Habitat Hero volunteers who help preserve our local environment

Children attending the launch are encouraged to dress up as butterflies to celebrate the theme of our new space, the life cycle of the butterfly. 🦋

Today I visited the South Australian Museum. We found out about so many sensory supports that are available including backpacks which can be borrowed from the front desk for use in the museum. We also had lots of different ways to communicate about what we found! AUSLAN and communication cards! Thanks to the South Australian Museum for supporting everyone to learn about our amazing world.
