Our Senior ATSIAP team have arrived safely in Brisbane and have had a huge first couple of days! On Day 1, they enjoyed working with the Epic crew to reflect on the importance of connection.

On Day 2, they explored both the Queensland and Brisbane museums, as well as various performing spaces in QPAC, getting an insight into the behind the scenes of their current productions, Beetlejuice, Rusalka and Fantastic Mr Fox. Laura, Kobi and Lucy enjoyed listening to a panel of First Nations' employees at both the Queensland Museum & QPAC to get a better understanding of different pathways into various career roles - from finance & production management, to freelance artistry and repatriation, they learnt that the best way to find the path that's right for you is to say yes to as many opportunities you can!

They also got to meet and learn from the incredible artist & designer, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins, about traditional techniques passed down through generations of her family. Ending the day at the croc exhibition was definitely a highlight. Wishing them luck for their state final ceremony on Wednesday!

Tomorrow will be our field events, along with the 3000m & 800m races. Students who have nominated for the 3000m need to go straight to the Oval at 8:30am ready for the race, all other students to go to Homegroup before going to the Oval.
The BBQ will be running on Thursday during our track events day.
Students are encouraged to wear their house colour and support their house throughout the carnival.

Last Friday, five Mirani SHS teams proudly participated in Mena's Touch Carnival, hosted by Mackay SHS in honour of the late Mena Tuibua, a valued former Mackay SHS and Clontarf Academy staff member.

It was a fantastic day of touch football, sportsmanship and community spirit. Thank you to Mackay SHS for the invitation and for continuing Mena’s legacy through this special event. We had a great day and look forward to returning next year!

✨ Dance Team Celebrate Valley Pride at Rock Pop Mime! ✨

What a fantastic night for our Dance Team as they took to the stage at Rock Pop Mime on Saturday night, representing our school alongside five other schools from across the Mackay district.

Our dancers showcased their dedication, teamwork, and passion through an incredible performance that highlighted the talent and commitment they have developed throughout their rehearsals.

Even more impressive was the way our students represented our school off the stage. Their outstanding behaviour, positive attitudes, and support for one another truly demonstrated what it means to show Valley Pride. 💙

A huge thank you to the teachers and our senior committee members who supported our students throughout the rehearsal and performance process. Your dedication, guidance and encouragement helped our dancers shine on the night.

Congratulations to all of our dancers — you should be incredibly proud of your achievements and the way you represented our school community. Your hard work and Valley Spirit shone brightly! 🌟
