On Friday 19th June, our students had a fantastic time participating in the Athletics Carnival hosted by Marlborough State School. It was a wonderful day filled with sportsmanship, determination, encouragement and plenty of fun.

A huge thank you to our friends from St Lawrence State School, Clarke Creek State School, School of Distance Education and Marlborough for the cheering, support and encouragement shown throughout the day. The positive atmosphere created by all schools made the event even more enjoyable for our students.

Most importantly, I would like to congratulate our students for their outstanding effort, participation and school spirit. You represented our school with pride and should be very proud of your achievements.

A massive thank you also goes to our families for attending, supporting our students and continually supporting our school. Your encouragement and involvement make these events so special.

On Monday 8th June, for our Art Lesson, our students enjoyed following a Kids Art Hub step-by-step drawing tutorial to create their very own treehouses.

Our older students took their creativity to the next level by designing story scenes across multiple pieces of paper, while our younger students brought their treehouses to life with beautiful colours and imaginative details.

It was a wonderful art experience that catered to all ages, allowing every student to express their creativity and enjoy the process of creating something unique.

Today our Prepโ€“Year 2 students enjoyed an exciting and hands-on excursion to Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary ๐ŸฆŽ๐Ÿฆœ

Cooberrie Park is a wildlife sanctuary dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for native Australian animals, while also educating visitors about wildlife conservation and environmental awareness. The sanctuary is home to a wide variety of native animals including reptiles, birds, kangaroos, koalas and crocodiles.

Our students had an amazing day learning all about Australian wildlife and were very brave while holding different reptiles and birds throughout the visit. The smiles on their faces said it all! ๐Ÿ˜Š

A wonderful day of learning, exploration and unforgettable experiences for our youngest students. Thank you to the staff at Cooberrie Park for making the day so engaging and educational for our students. Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary

Today, our Years 3โ€“6 students had the incredible opportunity to visit High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm where they explored the amazing world of fruits, vegetables and micro-organisms through hands-on learning experiences. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿชฑ

High Valley Dawn is a regenerative permaculture farm near Yeppoon that focuses on sustainable farming, organic produce, environmental care and educating communities about living in harmony with nature. The farm is home to thriving market gardens, food forests and over 1,000 species of edible and medicinal plants.

Our students learnt about how healthy soil, worms and tiny micro-organisms all play an
important role in growing healthy food and caring for the environment. They asked fantastic questions, explored the gardens and gained a deeper understanding of sustainability and where our food comes from. ๐ŸŒฑ

A massive thank you to the team at High Valley Dawn for sharing their knowledge and creating such an engaging and educational experience for our students. We are so grateful for the opportunity and please know our students walked away inspired! ๐Ÿ’š High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm Yeppoon

What a busy and exciting day we had yesterday at Milman State School!

Our day began with our Year 3โ€“4 students setting up a worm farm with Mrs Hotz as part of their Science unit exploring organisms, producers, consumers and decomposers. Students were very engaged and loved getting hands-on with their learning while discovering the important role worms play in our environment.

We also hosted our wonderful playgroup session, which focused on celebrating World Bee Day. With the help of Miss Lucy and Miss Christine, families, community members and students participated in a range of fun activities centred around the important role bees play in supporting our environment and ecosystems. ๐Ÿ

During the day, we were fortunate to welcome Constable Sonya and Constable Noah from Rockhampton Police Station. They delivered an important safety talk and spent time speaking with our older students about making positive choices, friendships and associations. We greatly appreciate them taking the time to visit our school and support our students. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

To finish off the day, our Prepโ€“Year 3 students attended the The Wiggles concert alongside Miss Monica and Mrs Job. This excursion aligned beautifully with our Dance curriculum this term, where students are learning about Australian dances and artists. The students had an amazing time singing, dancing and enjoying the live performance experience! ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

A huge thank you to our staff, families and visitors who helped make yesterday such a fantastic day of learning and fun for our students.
