Pride Month is a month-long celebration throughout June that recognises the LGBTQIA+ community and their contributions to society.

It is a time to acknowledge the challenges faced by this community. MASP is committed to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all who walk through our doors and stands in solidarity with their fight for equality, acceptance, and human rights.

This Reconciliation Week, MASP would like to highlight our Reconciliation Action Plan artwork, created by Miiki Puuri Mandi - Aboriginal Art artists Kuuwari and Elisha Mangal.

The artwork is titled Warka-Ngaratya (Work Together). The artwork depicts the communities MASP represents on both sides of the Murray River, including the confluence of the Baaka (Darling River) and the Murray.

A full explanation of the artwork can be found by reading MASP's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) athttps://masp.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/MASP-Reconciliation-Action-Plan-2025-0225-FA-01-WEB.pdf

Check back on MASP's socials later in National Reconciliation Week for more on MASP's RAP and what it means for our organisation.

MASP is on the lookout for community mentors to participate in our next MASP Youth Mentoring Program. The program recruits adults from the local community to provide mentoring and support to the young people participating.

Training provided to the mentors ensures that the young people are receiving the maximum benefit possible from the program, which starts in July and finishes with a Tasmania trek in January 2027.

Are you:
🙎‍♂️Passionate about making a positive difference in a young person's life?
🙍‍♀️Able to commit to a six-month program?
👊 Physically fit?

Then being a MASP community mentor might be the opportunity for you.

To find out more, reach out to Program Coordinator Mark Jamieson on [email protected]

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

MASP stands with our First Nations communities right across the Victorian Mallee and Far West New South Wales as we join in that commitment.

This week is National Volunteer Week, a week to celebrate all our volunteers. This year's theme is "Your Year to Volunteer".

MASP is proud of all who volunteer their time to help our organisation make a difference - whether they are Foster Carers looking after young people unable to live at home or Youth Mentors helping to shape a young person's story.

Volunteers play a vital role in building connected, inclusive, and resilient communities.

We are thankful for you all.

It was an honour for MASP Chief Executive Officer Charmaine Calis to present to the Sunraysia VIEW (Voice, Interests and Education of Women) Club last week.

Charmaine shared insights into MASP’s operations and the work we do in our local communities.

MASP always appreciates the opportunity to speak with local service groups about the support people can find right here in the Mallee and Far West NSW.
