If you came to the Mildura Show and went home with fairy floss, a showbag and our doorbell… you’ve taken the souvenir shopping a bit far. šŸ””šŸ˜‚

The doorbell attached to the Mildura SES building wasn’t a sideshow prize, and we’d quite like it back.

Feel free to return it.

Just knock. For obvious reasons. 🧔

After around 30 years of service from our old lockers, our new lockers are in and our volunteers now have a much more practical, organised and secure space for their gear 🧔 🧔

A huge thank you to Hi Tech Lockers for working with us to bring this project to life, and all of the local businesses and organisations who generously supported our Locker Sponsorship Campaign. Your contributions helped make this upgrade possible.

Projects like this are a great example of what can happen when our local community gets behind its volunteers.

Thank you for supporting Mildura SES and our volunteers who are there for our community when they are needed the most.

Last night SES Mildura Unit volunteers responded to a motor vehicle accident near Nichols Point following reports of a person trapped.

As Sunraysia’s Principal Road Rescue provider, our volunteers attended alongside Fire Rescue Victoria, Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police and CFA Sunraysia Fire Brigades Group supporting the emergency response.

A great example of our local emergency services working together when it matters most. 🧔

We welcome the support from The Nationals for our Built to Respond campaign.

We now urge all sides of politics to make the same commitment and help us deliver the facilities our volunteers and community need.

THE Victorian Greens and The Nationals have both backed Mildura's State Emergency Services’ $1 million Built to Respond redevelopment campaign. Member for Mildura Jade Benham said an elected Nationals and Liberal government would provide $1 million towards the proposed redevelopment. "The current facility had not kept pace with the critical role Mildura SES played in […]

When we say ā€œgive us a ringā€, this isn’t quite what we mean! šŸ’

Our Mildura SES volunteers were recently called to Mildura Hospital to help remove a stuck ring, and then to Mildura Police Station for a set of handcuffs that weren’t cooperating! šŸ”“

Our Domestic Rescue Kit carries specialised tools for these delicate jobs, from stubborn rings, to fingers stuck in places they weren’t meant to go (we’re looking at you, plug holes! šŸ˜…).

A big thank you to the businesses who have helped Mildura SES put together our portable Starlink kit! 🧔

Their generous donations will give our volunteers a portable internet connection when working in remote areas where mobile coverage is limited or unavailable.

Thank you to:

• Harvey Norman and the team for donating the Starlink.
• Battery World for donating the lithium battery and charger.
• Dishy Mini Mounts for donating the mount and accessories.
• Pelican Products for donating the protective case.
• Bunnings Warehouse for donating the consumables used to put the kit together.

Together, these contributions have helped turn the Starlink into a portable kit that our volunteers can take into the field to access information and stay connected.

Did you know that Victoria State Emergency Service volunteers work from the poorest facilities in Victoria's emergency management sector: ageing buildings, safety concerns and uncertain tenure.

Our Mildura unit was built in the 80’s. It has 1 wall heater and 1 aircon unit. 1 male and 1 female toilet and; we are no longer safety compliment.

Every unit deserves a safe, fit-for-purpose base. We need a government that will deliver one.

Our Built to Respond campaign is front page of the Sunraysia Daily

We are seeking a $1 million commitment from the Victorian Government to help deliver the redevelopment of our headquarters — a facility that better supports our volunteers when they responding to storms, floods, road crashes and searches, while supporting our fellow emergency services across Sunraysia.

The proposed redevelopment would provide dedicated operations and communications spaces, improved training facilities, individual change areas, better amenities and climate control — practical improvements that support the work our volunteers do.

A huge thank you to the Sunraysia Daily for helping share our story, and to everyone in our community who continues to support Mildura SES 🧔
