๐Ÿ“šโœจ National Simultaneous Storytime โœจ๐Ÿ“š

Today we joined children all around Australia for National Simultaneous Storytime as we shared the beautiful story Luna Roo! ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿฆ˜

The children were engaged in discussions about friendship, belonging, kindness and imagination as we explored the story together. Through shared reading experiences, children develop important early literacy skills including listening, comprehension, language development and a love of books. ๐Ÿ’›

We extended our learning through group discussions, creative experiences and dramatic play inspired by Luna Roo and her adventures. What a special way to connect, learn and celebrate the joy of storytelling together! ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

โ˜•๐Ÿ’› Australiaโ€™s Biggest Morning Tea ๐Ÿ’›โ˜•

Today our children enjoyed taking part in Australiaโ€™s Biggest Morning Tea, a wonderful nationwide initiative that helps raise funds for cancer research, prevention and support services.

As part of the experience, the children shared a delicious morning tea including fresh fruit, pumpkin scones, donuts, cupcakes, mini finger buns and fairy bread, while our educators also enjoyed a special platter morning tea together. ๐Ÿง๐Ÿฉ

Through this event, children learnt about the importance of community, kindness, helping others and how fundraising can make a positive difference in peopleโ€™s lives.

A big thank you to our wonderful families for generously providing food and supporting this special event. Your kindness helps teach our children the value of caring for others and giving back to the community. โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿซ–

๐Ÿšฆ๐Ÿ’š Road Safety Week! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿšฆ

What an exciting way to celebrate Road Safety Week! One of our wonderful families brought in their green Lamborghini for the children to explore, creating lots of excitement while sparking important conversations about staying safe on and around roads. ๐ŸŽ๏ธโœจ

Throughout the experience, the children learnt valuable road safety skills, including how to cross the road safely, stop and look, listen for traffic, and always hold a grown-upโ€™s hand when near roads or car parks. ๐Ÿšธ๐Ÿ‘ซ

Hands-on experiences like these help children build awareness, confidence, and an understanding of how to keep themselves safe in everyday situations. A big thank you to our family for helping make this learning experience so memorable! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ

๐Ÿ International Bee Day ๐Ÿ

Today we celebrated International Bee Day and explored the important role bees play in our world! The children learnt about how bees help flowers grow through pollination and why they are so important for our environment. ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿฏ

Our little learners enjoyed a hands-on bee tuff tray sensory experience, where they explored, investigated, and engaged their senses through play. We also visited our bee house in the garden, sparking conversations about how we can create safe spaces for bees in our community. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒฟ

Through play and discovery, the children developed their understanding of nature, sustainability, and the important role even the smallest creatures play in our ecosystem. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿšฆ Road Safety Week! ๐Ÿ›ด๐Ÿšฒ

This week the children are bringing along their bikes, scooters and helmets to Dooral to explore our very own Dooral adventure course! Using chalk road markings, traffic signs, traffic lights, a bus stop and car park, the children practised important road safety skills through hands-on play.

Through this experience, children learned about:
๐Ÿ›‘ Recognising road signs and traffic lights
๐Ÿ‘€ Looking carefully before crossing roads
๐Ÿฆบ The importance of wearing helmets and staying safe
๐Ÿšถ Taking turns, following directions and being aware of others
๐Ÿš— Understanding how roads, car parks and bus stops work in our community

Learning through play helps children build confidence, independence and awareness of how to stay safe in everyday situations. We love seeing the children actively engaged while developing important lifelong safety skills! ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿฆ–This week our children have fallen in love with dinosaurs, turning our outdoor space into a world of imagination and learning. Through dinosaur play, children are developing their creativity, language skills, and curiosity about the natural world.

Weโ€™ve been digging for โ€œfossils,โ€ creating our own dinosaur habitats, and learning about different species, what they ate, and how they lived. This hands-on play encourages problem-solving, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of science concepts like habitats and prehistoric life.

Itโ€™s been wonderful to see the children so engaged, asking questions, and bringing their ideas to life in such meaningful ways ๐Ÿฆ•

Our children have been busy helping to create a beautiful new garden space! ๐ŸŒผ Together, they planted colourful flowers and spread fresh mulch to brighten and refresh our play area.

Through this hands-on experience, the children are learning about:
๐ŸŒฟ Caring for the environment
๐ŸŒธ How plants grow and what they need to thrive
๐Ÿชด Teamwork and responsibility
๐Ÿž Exploring nature through their senses

Itโ€™s been so special to watch their excitement as they dig, plant, and take pride in their shared space. We canโ€™t wait to see our garden bloom! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿšง Construction in action! ๐Ÿฆบ

Our children have been showing a strong interest in construction, so we created a hands-on construction sensory tuff tray to extend their learning. Using oats, cereal, and saltanas to represent different textures, the children explored digging, scooping, building, and transporting, just like real construction workers!

This experience supports:
๐Ÿ”ธ Fine motor development through scooping and pouring
๐Ÿ”ธ Imaginative play and storytelling
๐Ÿ”ธ Problem-solving and early engineering skills
๐Ÿ”ธ Sensory exploration using a variety of textures

The children were fully engaged as they created their own โ€œwork sites,โ€ moved materials, and worked together to build and explore. Learning through play at its best! ๐Ÿ‘ท๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ—๏ธโš™๏ธ
