🏆 Congratulations, Landyn! 🎉

Landyn recently represented our school at the 2026 Boccia Representative Tournament, competing in the Challenge Tournament with his team.

While they didn’t come away with a medal, Landyn had a fantastic time, improved his game and showed wonderful sportsmanship by supporting and helping others throughout the day.

Our quiet heros of Merriwa Central School are our SASS staff. We appreciate you always, but given it's School Support Staff Week, we'd thought we'd share some love on our socials, and hope our community can see how much we appreciate all the work you do to support our teachers and students! We cannot do all these things, without you!!

On Tuesday evening, a group of MCS students attended the Merriwa Rotary Club dinner to compete in a public speaking competition.
Focusing on the values of friendship, fairness, truth and being of benefit to others, the students chose their own topics for round 1, and then had an impromptu round to finish the event. All students spoke well, and thank you to Mr Hannon and Ms Wenzel for making this possible.
What a proud moment for all families, and great thanks to Mrs Nixon and Mr Ryan for judging on the evening.
It was a great experience for all and thank you to Mrs Sparrow, Mr Bates and Merriwa Rotary for hosting this event and supporting our students.

Little Sprouts - A Symphony of Stories

What a wonderful day celebrating stories, music and imagination at Little Sprouts!

A highlight was seeing the incredible homemade costumes in our Book Parade - feathers, felt, wool and plenty of creativity brought some very special characters to life.

Our music lesson and Musical Story Islands were another favourite, with children moving, playing and enjoying music together with the help of our fantastic secondary student helpers.

A huge thank you to all of the businesses, volunteers, attendees and supporters who helped bring Little Sprouts to life. We are so grateful for the wonderful community support that makes this special event possible each year.
