No1 Must-Do Tourist Attraction in QLD! Everyone has a dream, but not everyone’s dreams are fulfilled. José Paronella’s dream was to build a castle.

He chose a special part of Australia and created Paronella Park. On 5 Hectares beside Mena Creek Falls he built his castle, picnic area by the falls, tennis courts, bridges, a tunnel, and wrapped it up in an amazing range of 7,500 tropical plants and trees (now a lush rainforest!). It opened to the public in 1935. Paronella Park has received multiple Queensland tourism awards, is State and Nationa

l Heritage listed and is a National Trust listed property. It is privately owned and operated and Eco accredited. Paronella Park is the site of Queensland’s 1st privately owned hydro electric plant (1933).

Friends, today we share something truly special… something that reminds us what it means to dream.

Meet Isaac.

Just 10 years old, with only three years of playing cello behind him, yet already carrying a passion far greater than his years. Last year, Isaac set himself a challenge to take his music across Australia, to let it echo through the country’s most magical places.

When his mum reached out and asked if one of those places could be Paronella Park… there was never a question in our minds! Of course the answer was yes.

Because Paronella Park was born from a dream.

José Paronella imagined something extraordinary in the heart of the rainforest and against all odds, brought it to life.

And today, it still belongs to dreamers.

As Isaac’s music drifted through the Park and the trees, through the stories held in every piece of concrete… you could feel it. The magical connection between a boy with a dream and a place that was built from one.

Isaac has reminded us that no dream is ever too big, too small, and you're never too old, or too young, to begin. You just have to start.

Follow your dreams, young Isaac - we'll be cheering you on from the Park.

We're so blessed here at Paronella Park... if it rains on Easter weekend (which, let's face it, in FNQ it often does!), the rainforest is actually at its best.

The falls are flowing, everything is so green and alive, and it's pretty bloody spectacular!

You can call us biased if you want to, but we think that if the Easter Bunny needed a holiday, this is where he'd want to be! ;)

We're open all weekend - come see the magic for yourself. We can't wait to show it to you.

☺️☺️☺️ Don’t worry everyone, the cyclone watch has been cancelled, and we are open as usual! ❌🌀❌

The plants and waterfalls always love a good shower, and the Park is looking lush, vibrant and tropically gorgeous.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on conditions (like we always do in FNQ!), but at this stage we’re absolutely welcoming visitors as normal.

If you’re travelling in the area, please take care on the roads and allow a little extra time in the wet weather.

Thank you to everyone who checked in with us… we really do have the most supportive supporters in the world and we love and appreciate you very much!

Today, we celebrate the birthday of visionary Jose Paronella - our spiritual guide for everything we do here.

Born in Catalonia, Jose arrived in Australia with a dream. Not just to build a new home, but to build something ✨ magical✨.

Through determination, imagination, and unwavering belief in his vision, he turned that dream into what we now know and love as Paronella Park.

Nearly a century later, his legacy continues to inspire visitors from all over the world. Every stone featuring his fingerprints, every tree he planted, and every story shared on our guided tours is a testament to one man’s extraordinary vision and perseverance.

On what would have been his birthday, we honour Jose’s courage to dream big, and his reminder to all of us that with passion and persistence, remarkable things can be created.

Happy birthday Jose. Your dream continues, and is safe here with us. ❤️

Hey everyone! 🥰🥰🥰

First of all, we wanted to thank all of you who have reached out to us to ask if we were ok with this cyclone/heavy rainfall. It means so much to all of us here that when there are weather events in Queensland, we are top of mind to you… thank you. ❤️

This weather system passed by us completely and made landfall approx 300kms south of us, so we were able to escape it completely. This photo was taken here today at Paronella Park, so as you can see we were very lucky this time and it’s business as usual!

We know first hand how scary and damaging these weather events can be, so our thoughts are very firmly with those who were affected, and continue to be affected.

Stay strong and be kind and patient with each other. ❤️

✨ New Year, same beautiful Park! ✨

We’ve had a few messages asking if we’re okay after all this rain, and yes, absolutely we are! Okay, open, and ready to share Jose’s dream with you. 💚

The waterfalls are flowing, the rainforest is green like you’ve never seen, and the Park stands as strong and resilient as ever!

Here’s to fresh starts, cosy rainy days, and that Paronella Park magic that never fades. 🥰🌳❤️

We’re coming up to the Christmas season and we’re taking a tiiiiiiny little break to allow our beautiful team members some time with their families 🥰🎄

We’ll be closing early on the 23rd (Christmas Eve eve!) and then completely closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We’ll be back on deck Boxing Day ready to share Jose’s dream with everyone once again!
