🔥 Tonight at RISKBreakers!!! 🔥
Regulars Skye and Alec are focusing on the current campaign of providing Better S*x Education within schools.
Skye and Alec took turns interviewing each other on why this Topic is important to them personally.

One question asked was “ Why should this matter to others?”
With the answer being “ The more others care and discuss this topic in school, the less stigma there will be. People won’t be judged for asking questions or feel guilty or shamed about our bodies.”
“ It’s also important that all genders have a better understanding of how periods work. Not just seen as a time of the month moment…”
There was also discussion of how this Topic needs to be discussed as an inter- generational.
Amongst the seriousness, comradery is being formed and laughs were shared.

Hi Community,

We have had to cancel our planned Week 2 - Manga Character Illustration Workshop with Emily due to the Workshop Facilitator pulling out.

We have replaced this workshop with our MANA Akademy Hero Forge 3D Miniature Workshop - Mornington so we still had 3 Events happening over Holidays, while we have 3 happening at Longbeach Learning and Activity Centre as well.

Term 2 School Holiday & Term 3 at Mornington Community House are the hot topics in the Newsletter we just emailed out to all past, present MANA Akademy Members.

We also sent the email out to every school from Portsea to Frankston - if you would like us to come out and chat about our Pathfinder for Schools Program and our Akademy Clubs, please let us know.

Happy to announce that Mentor Rick will be spearheading this event that is a collaborative effort between Longbeach Learning and Activity Centre Mordialloc Community Centre and Cheltenham Community Centre .

Rick's been running 2 groups D&D groups weekly since November last year outside of MANA, And this event will showcase strong community partnerships for the best outcomes for the Dingley and Kingston areas young people.

Both groups are currently full in our Longbeach crew, but this event will be open to the whole community.

🎤 MY FIRST SPEECH COMPETITION 🎤

Ok folks, you know how much I love Democracy Class. Each and every time I do it, I ask how many kids have given speeches before. More than half the hands go up every time.

So now it’s time for the big league.

If you know a year 10, 11 or 12 student in Flinders please encourage them to participate in the My First Speech competition - an opportunity to write a 3 minute speech about the issues you are passionate about.

A winner from each year group (10, 11 and 12) will win an expenses-paid trip to Canberra with their guardian to present their speeches live at Parliament House. Yes!

📅 The submission deadline is 11:59pm on Monday 20 July 2026.
