Taking Taiwan's message straight to the Big Apple! Fair dinkum, what a campaign! 🚕🗽🇹🇼

As the 81st UN General Assembly kicks off, Taiwan has once again been blocked for political reasons—so our New York team took matters into their own hands. From iconic yellow taxis cruising Manhattan to blazing billboards right in Times Square, Taiwan’s voice is loud and clear. Let's get one thing straight: UNGA Resolution 2758 does not mention Taiwan and cannot be used to shut out 23.5 million people. If the UN truly wants to "leave no one behind," it's time to let Taiwan chip in on the SDGs and global security!

🇹🇼 台灣夜市走進科拉克，讓文化、服務與交流一起發生。

9月13日，「夜見台灣－2026台灣中秋節夜市」在距墨爾本約150公里的科拉克熱鬧登場。電音三太子、台灣黑熊、舞獅、台灣美食與中秋文化輪番上陣，現場估計吸引近4,000人參與，許多澳洲家庭也一起感受最生活化的台灣味。

本處與科拉克市長 Jason Schram、維州眾議員 Richard Riordan、在地社區及台灣鄉親交流，也將「行動領務服務」帶到 regional Victoria，為海外國人及打工度假青年提供護照、文件驗證等諮詢。

中華航空透過墨爾本－台北直航及旅遊資訊推廣台灣觀光；土豆商城（Potato Mart）等台商夥伴則把優質台灣食品帶進地方社區，不只讓澳洲朋友認識台灣味，也讓旅居海外的國人能享受熟悉的家鄉味。

從文化交流、觀光推廣、行動領務、僑社參與、台商力量，到地方政府與民意代表的互動，一場中秋夜市串起了台灣與澳洲地方社會不同層面的連結。

這也是台灣軟實力最自然的樣子：透過文化、美食、服務與人與人的交流，讓更多澳洲朋友在日常生活中看見台灣、認識台灣，也讓海外國人感受到台灣一直在身邊。

🇦🇺 Taiwan came to Colac through culture, community, service and connection.

Nearly 4,000 people joined the NIGHTSEE TAIWAN – 2026 Taiwan Moon Festival Night Market, where Techno Prince Nezha, the Taiwan black bear, lion dancing and Taiwanese night-market favourites brought the Mid-Autumn spirit to regional Victoria.

Beyond the celebrations, TECO Melbourne brought consular services closer to Taiwanese living and working outside Melbourne. China Airlines promoted Taiwan tourism and the Melbourne–Taipei connection, while Potato Mart and other Taiwanese businesses shared the tastes of Taiwan with local communities and Taiwanese living abroad.

Together with local government, community partners and the Taiwanese diaspora, the event brought culture, tourism, consular outreach, business and people-to-people diplomacy into one shared space — a practical expression of Taiwan’s soft power and its growing connections across regional Victoria.

Third place secured at the U18 Asian Baseball Championship! Proud of our young heroes. ⚾🥉🇦🇺 (Oops, meant Team Taiwan!)

After bouncing back with a cracking 13-0 win over the Philippines in five innings, Taiwan clinched the bronze medal and booked our ticket straight to the 2027 U18 Baseball World Cup! Manager Yang Hsiao-cheng might reckon his debut stint was a tough learning curve after missing out on the final, but to the fans, this squad gave it their absolute all through months of grueling training. Chin up, boys—you've done us proud, and the future is bright!

U18亞亞洲青棒錦標賽完美收官：台灣隊力退菲律賓，奪下季軍！ ⚾🥉

經過兩個多月的高強度集訓與拚戰，台灣隊在 U18 亞洲青棒錦標賽季軍戰中，以 13 比 0 的好成績在 5 局提前扣倒菲律賓，順利收下銅牌，並搶下 2027 年 U18 世界盃棒球賽門票！總教練楊孝承賽後感性肯定球員的努力與付出。雖然與金牌擦身而過有些遺憾，但這群年輕好手展現出的拼勁與韌性，絕對值得全體國人為他們大力喝采！台灣棒球，繼續向前衝！

駐墨爾本辦事處處長呂明澤近日於澳洲戰略政策研究所（ASPI）《The Strategist》發表專文，探討聯合國大會第2758號決議遭擴張解讀後，對國際制度運作及台灣國際參與所產生的實際影響。

文章指出，第2758號決議處理的是中國在聯合國的代表權問題，並未決定台灣的地位，也未授權排除台灣參與國際組織。

當政治性解讀逐漸進入制度運作，影響的就不只是參與本身，也涉及航空安全、公共衛生及跨國合作等實際議題。

台灣持續以專業、務實方式參與國際事務，並為國際社會作出具體貢獻。維護國際制度的可信度，也有賴各方對既有決議作出精確、負責任的理解與適用。

Director-General Ray Ming-Tse Lu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Melbourne has contributed a new article to ASPI’s The Strategist, examining how expanded interpretations of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 have come to affect institutional practice and Taiwan’s international participation.

The article notes that Resolution 2758 addressed the question of China’s representation at the United Nations. It did not determine Taiwan’s status, nor did it authorise Taiwan’s exclusion from international organisations.

When political interpretations begin to shape institutional practice, the consequences extend beyond participation itself, affecting areas such as aviation safety, public health and practical international cooperation.

Taiwan continues to engage internationally in a professional and pragmatic manner, making concrete contributions to the international community. The credibility of international institutions also depends on precise and responsible interpretation of their own mandates.

從1911、1949，到1971年的聯合國大會第2758號決議，一段歷史，也是一堂關於民主、自由與台灣的課。
上週，本處很高興陪同 Geelong Lutheran College 師生走進墨爾本唐人街，從孫中山先生所倡議的民主、民權理念，以及中華民國的歷史發展出發，一起認識今天民主台灣一路走來的歷程。
歷史讓我們理解從哪裡走來；交流，讓不同世代更了解民主與自由為什麼值得珍惜。
