📢 Prison time isn't fine.❗️

📅 Tomorrow, 10 September, the Victorian Parliament has a chance to right a historic wrong, and stop imprisonment for fines debt for good. Parliament is voting on proposed legislation to abolish jail time for fines debt.

💔 Ms Dhu's story reminds us that jailing people for poverty can be a death sentence. We can't bring her back, but we can ensure it doesn't happen to anybody else.

✅️ There are more humane and cost-effective ways to recover fines debt than jail time. Join us, and call on the Victorian Parliament to support this legislation and abolish imprisonment for fines debt.

⭐️ Thank you Henry! 📚

🌏 There’s something pretty special about seeing our youngest community members choosing to give back. One of our staff members’ children, Henry, decided to part with a huge collection of his much-loved books and donate them to our Casey North community book library.

🌈 Thank you, Henry! These books have already been loved once, and now they’re ready for their next adventure with someone new. But wait, even Batman has decided to retire and join the book shelf! Apparently fighting crime has taken its toll. The Batmobile is gone, the cape is still hanging on, and Batman has officially entered his Combi van retirement era✌🏽☮️

🦇 No Gotham City or high-speed chases. Just Batman cruising into Casey North in his van, saying "Alright I'm out" and ready to retire peacefully on someone’s bookshelf. Honestly, we support the career change.Batman and Henry’s wonderful books are now ready to find their new homes.

🌠Thank you, Henry, for showing us that you’re never too young to make a difference in your community.

Please feel free to take home a book with you when you visit Casey North CISS.

🧡 It's giving... Knitwear 🧶🕶🧣

🧶 Okay… we officially CANNOT get enough of these adorable knitted beanies! And just when we thought they couldn’t get any cuter, Cassy Mills, the new Community Access & Partnerships Coordinator at the City of Casey came through with MORE! 🥹🧡

🧥✨ But Cassy didn’t stop at beanies! She also arrived with a whole bag of donated coats and jackets, including some much-needed children’s sizes, ready to keep members of our community rugged up through Melbourne’s very unpredictable weather... rain, sunshine, wind and hail, sometimes all before lunchtime! 🙃🌦️

💞 What meant just as much was Cassy taking the time to chat with us about what our community may need over Christmas and how she can continue supporting us into the future. Her genuine interest in keeping our service connected, supported and looked after was so greatly appreciated.

⭐️ Cassy, you’re an absolute star! Thank you for thinking of our communityat Casey North Community Information & Support Service Inc. for showing up with arms full of goodies, and for already looking ahead to how you can help even more. We’re so grateful to have you in our corner. 🧡

🎀 Dignity, kindness and a little bit of love go a very long way ✨️

♥️ Today we had the lovely Eva from Share the Dignity visit us with an incredible donation of period products for the women and girls who come through our doors. Share the Dignity has supported Casey North Community Information & Support Service Inc. for many years, and we honestly cannot express how much these donations mean to us and, more importantly, to the people we support.

✨️ Sometimes we meet women and young girls who are doing it incredibly tough. When every dollar matters, something as basic as period products can become another impossible decision: Do I buy pads, pay for medication, put money towards rent or bills, or buy something to eat?

💔 It’s heartbreaking that anyone should ever have to make that choice. Having your period should never come at the cost of eating dinner or keeping the lights on. Dignity is not a luxury. It is something every person deserves.

🌻 To Eva and the entire Share the Dignity family, and our community at City of Casey for donating ( Donations points at Woolworths at Casey Central Shopping Centre and Westfield Fountain Gate ) in Narree Warren and local. Thank you for continuing to show up for our community and for the thousands of women and girls you support. Every packet donated is more than a product. It is one less worry, one less difficult choice, and a quiet reminder to someone that they matter and their dignity matters.

🦋 We feel incredibly fortunate to have worked alongside Share the Dignity for so many years, and we are so grateful for everything you continue to do.

📍Period products can also be donated through participating Share the Dignity collection points, and there are many other beautiful ways to support their work. Because no woman or girl should ever have to go without the basic essentials they need.

🌏 Thank You to The Nappy Collective! 🤱

🩷 A very special thank you to Novelle and the amazing team at The Nappy Collective for their incredibly generous donation of a huge range of brand-new nappies in different sizes and baby wipes for families in our community.
The Nappy Collective has supported Casey North Community Information & Support Service Inc. for many years, helping us provide essential items to families experiencing financial hardship when they need them most.

💛The impact of this donation is immediate: every pack of nappies and wipes we receive means a family has one less essential expense to worry about. It helps parents keep their babies clean, comfortable and cared for, while allowing limited household funds to stretch a little further towards food, rent, bills and other necessities.

🙏🏽For families doing it tough, something as simple as having enough nappies can make an enormous difference.

👣 We are so grateful to Novelle and The Nappy Collective for their continued generosity and for the incredible work they do supporting services and families across our community.

🌍 Thank you for helping us turn donated essentials into practical relief for local families.

🧼🧴 A Huge Thank You to Soap Aid 🧴🧼

🌈We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Soap Aid for their incredibly generous donation of 180 bars of soap to Casey North Community Information & Support Service Inc.
For many of the people who come through our doors experiencing financial hardship or homelessness, even basic toiletries can become something they simply cannot afford.

🌈🫧These 180 bars of soap mean we can provide an essential hygiene item to clients who may otherwise have to go without, helping people maintain their health, hygiene and dignity during incredibly difficult circumstances.

🧼 Something as simple as a bar of soap can make a meaningful difference when every dollar has to go towards food, housing, bills or simply getting through the day.

🩷Thank you, Soap Aid, for supporting our service and helping us continue to provide practical, essential assistance to people in our community. 💙
