🎤 JUST OVER A WEEK TO GO! 🎤

Youth Fest is almost here, and we’re SO excited to announce our amazing line-up of young artists! 🔥🎶

🌟 Niasha —
Musician, songwriter and spoken word artist Niasha seamlessly blends Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop and Amapiano. Originally from Zimbabwe and now based in Naarm/Melbourne, she brings the vibrant energy and multicultural influences of the city and her upbringing to the stage. Expect a soulful voice, electrifying energy and a performance you won’t want to miss! ✨

🎸 Thom Johnston —
Imagine Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen raised a child in Geelong/Djilang. With roots in the classics and an eye on contemporary sounds, singer-songwriter Thom Johnston is a voice for young people figuring themselves out — with a knack for making the ordinary worth documenting. 🎶

🎵 MYNE
A collective of multi-instrumentalist songwriters with a shared passion for all things music. MYNE brings a collage of sounds, genres and styles to the stage — you never know quite what you’re going to get, but you know it’s going to be good! 💥

Local student Nayna from Braybrook College recently spent the day with Mayor Semra as part of the Youth Mayor for a Day program.

Nayna had the opportunity to learn more about the role of the Mayor, Council’s work and upcoming initiatives and programs, all while having an absolute blast!

During the day, Nayna joined Mayor Semra at the State Library to participate in the Fearless Conversations Podcast, met with local business owners in the Footscray C*D, and welcomed community members at a City of Maribyrnong Citizenship Ceremony.

This awesome opportunity provided Nayna with an insight into local government and the different ways Council and the Mayor engage with the community.
