We’re helping deliver homes for workers in key sectors across regional Victoria.

This includes at Irymple, where construction has started on five new houses for staff at the local Montessori Beginnings learning centre.

This follows the recent completion of 10 other houses in the north-west Victorian town, while an hour away more homes are also being built for staff at Robinvale District Health Services and Robinvale College.

From the Mallee to Gippsland, the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund is helping unlock around $370 million in housing investment for workers in key sectors.

Our regional economies remain resilient, with unemployment rates continuing to track below the regional Victorian average. ✅

Hume, which makes up part of Victoria’s north east, has an unemployment rate of 3.5%. North West Victoria’s unemployment rate is also strong at 3.7%.

These are among the state’s top performers. 🏆

We’re continuing to back regional jobs and businesses through programs like the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund, which is supporting thousands of workers with more affordable housing closer to where they work. 🏠

Projects already making a difference include Rural Northwest Health’s modular housing development, providing accommodation for up to 12 health workers, and new single-bedroom units at Kyabram District Health Service.

The Shepparton BMX Track and Cycling Precinct has pedalled a huge achievement at the Victorian Sport Awards.🏆

Congratulations to Greater Shepparton City Council for taking out the 2025 Bunnings Trade Local Government Initiative of the Year for the Shepparton multi-use events pavilion.

Upgrades at the BMX Track and Cycling Precinct were made possible by the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program, helping boost the local economy with a major upgrade to cycling in Shepparton.

The project has delivered an exceptional facility including a new multi-use events pavilion with elevated views of the BMX track. It has already hosted several national events, including the recent BMX National Championships. It will host rounds 3 and 4 of the 2028 UCI BMX Racing World Cup.
