Library staff member Jill recommends Messenger Cat Cafรฉ by Nagi Shimeno, describing it as a โ€œsweet book that reveals the depth of relationship a cat has for his owner and the lengths he will go to in order to see her again. The adventures on the way to fulfilling his wish are many and varied, but all highlight the different ways love is revealed in our daily lives."

Messenger Cat Cafรฉ tells the story of tabby cat Fuuta who has passed into the afterlife. Eager to see owner Michiru again, Fuuta interviews for a position at Cafรฉ Pont, which is known for its unique service: its living customers can request meetings with the person they would most like to see again. Fuuta must investigate and deliver his messages without unnerving the living or upsetting the balance of the universe. It is a weighty task for a tabby cat, but Fuuta rises to the challenge.

A rumbling journey through time, TRAM is a book of stories, a celebration of the cityโ€™s living veins. From the horse-drawn carriages of the 1880s to the sleek modern trams of today, author Greg Gardiner takes us on a fascinating ride through the history and memory of a unique urban icon. TRAM celebrates the worldโ€™s largest tram network, weaving together history, memory and imagination to tell the stories of a city in motion.

Greg Gardiner is a former tram driver and head of research in the Victorian Parliamentary Library.
