HWLLEN is short for Hume Whittlesea Local Learning and Employment Network. Hume Whittlesea Local Learning and Employment Network (HWLLEN) is a not-for-profit, membership based organization that works at the grass roots level to assist young people to complete Year 12 or its equivalent and improve transition outcomes. HWLLEN is one of 31 Local Learning and Employment Networks across the state and i

s funded by the State Government. Our Vision: Young People are inspired to be engaged in education and employment, and to actively participate in the community. Our Values:

LLENs do a lot to support students across Victoria — here’s one example.

Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENs) are working together to coordinate the VET Access Transport Fund across Victoria. The fund supports clusters of schools to help students travel to their Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VDSS) programs.
By providing coordinated, fit-for-purpose transport solutions, the initiative reduces barriers and helps expand subject choices for secondary students.

LLENs were identified as the most appropriate organisations to coordinate this initiative due to their strong local partnerships and statewide network supporting young people, schools and industry.

A huge shout out and thank you to everyone involved in activating MBV’s generous $66,000 donation towards PPE for our VDSS students.

Master Builders Victoria proudly partnered with HWLLEN through their VET in Schools Program to provide students with essential PPE and safety gear for their upcoming studies in building and construction.

MBV is committed to supporting secondary school students to gain a clearer understanding of the career pathways available within the building and construction industry — while they are still at school.

MBV are proud to support this important initiative alongside VicLLENs - Victorian Local Learning and Employment Networks, continuing our commitment to recognising potential, celebrating emerging talent, and inspiring the future workforce of our industry.

A huge congratulations to Hume City’s Animal Land Children's Farm for winning Gold in the Tourist Attractions category at the 2025 Victorian Tourism Awards – for the second year in a row 🏆
They continue to create a positive impact on our visitor economy, creating new jobs and providing amazing experiences for locals and visitors 🛣️
Also, a round of applause to Marnong Estate for being named a finalist in the Business Event Venue category in their first year of entry 👏
