Victorian Multicultural Commission

Victorian Multicultural Commission We support and advocate for culturally and linguistically diverse Victorians.

As the main link between communities and government, the Victorian Multicultural Commission engages with multicultural and multifaith groups to understand the issues they face. We then work together to identify and recommend potential solutions to government, policymakers and community organisations to make public services more inclusive and accessible.

National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) is a time to reflect on our shared history and recognise the enduring cultures, contributions and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme, “All In,” calls on all of us to take meaningful action towards reconciliation, as a shared responsibility.

Together, we can listen, learn and work towards a more just and inclusive future for all.

Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant occasions in the Islamic calendar, is a time of prayer, reflection and celebration.

Across Victoria and around the world, meals are shared, communities give to those in need, and the values of sacrifice, gratitude and care for one another are honoured.

The Victorian Multicultural Commission extends its warmest wishes to all those celebrating Eid al-Adha, and recognises the important role faith, community and generosity play in strengthening our vibrant multicultural society.
