Congratulations Graham Lovett on being awarded Casey Senior of the Year

Wishing Ex Lt and Firefighter Graham Lovet all the very best this evening as he’s nominated for the City of Casey Senior Citizen of the Year!
An incredible 58 years of service as a CFA volunteer, Graham has dedicated himself to the Hallam Fire Brigade and supported communities across Victoria through countless deployments. He has also answered the call interstate on multiple occasions, always ready to lend a hand where it’s needed most.
Known for his generosity, leadership, and mentorship within the CFA, Graham has inspired and guided so many over the years.
Beyond firefighting, he has also been a committed volunteer with the Salvos for more than a decade, continuing his passion for helping others.
This recognition is truly well deserved — a reflection of his lifelong dedication, service, and commitment to the community. We’re all incredibly proud of you, Graham.

No fires can be lit, or be allowed to remain alight, in the open air from 12:01 AM until 11:59 PM.

WE REMEMBER – BLACK SATURDAY – 7 FEBRUARY

Today, Saturday 7 February 2026, marks 17 years since the 2009 Black Saturday Bushfires - one of the darkest days in Victoria’s history.

We remember the 173 lives lost, the families and communities forever changed, and the thousands of homes and livelihoods destroyed. We also acknowledge the extraordinary courage and selflessness shown by volunteers, career firefighters and emergency service personnel who faced unimaginable conditions to protect others.

As we move through the 2025/26 bushfire season, the lessons learned from Black Saturday continue to shape how we prepare for, respond to and recover from fire. These lessons have strengthened our focus on safety, preparedness and working together with our communities.

Today, we pause to reflect, to remember, and to honour all those impacted.

As the current fires continue across Victoria, Hallam Tanker and members are continuing to provide assistance and work alongside local communities as part of Strike Team 0891 in the Longwood Fire Complex.

We sincerely thank our members for their dedication, professionalism, and ongoing service during this time of need. Your commitment makes a real difference to the communities you support.

Four members were deployed this afternoon as part of Task Force 0891, departed D08 HQ and responding to Yea to assist with the Longwood Fire Complex.
