The Ascot Vale Branch of the Australian Labor Party is one of fifteen in the federal seat of Melbourne. We meet on the last Wednesday of every month at the Union Hotel, 252 Union Road, Ascot Vale. Sometimes we have joint branch meetings with the Moonee Ponds & Strathmore Branches. you would like to join the mailing list or stay tuned to this facebook group. Being a member of the Australian Labor Party gives you the opportunity to have a say about the way the Party works. It also allows you to participate more broadly within Australia’s political system. Local branch membership requires you to join the Party at a local branch meeting. As a branch member, after a qualifying period, you will have a vote in selecting candidates to represent the ALP in state and federal elections and you can participate in local branch meetings, which are usually held once a month. All members can contribute to policy discussions and assist the Labor Party in winning elections. Putting the ponds back in the Moonee Ponds Creek is essential work that really needs to start now. My work over the next 4 years if elected will be to strike a blow to get this huge job started. Be part of getting this up and going - our local environment needs a break and community support to rebuild.
