Active Merri-bek is an initiative developed by Merri-bek City Council to make it easier for more people to be more active more often. The key focus of Active Merri-bek is to ensure those who are least likely to participate are supported and encouraged to get active. By supporting non traditional participants to participate, it will also have benefits for those who are already participating. There
are four key goal areas related to Active Merri-bek:
Active people - targeting people who are least likely to participate and encouraging lifelong participation for better health and wellbeing outcomes
Active opportunities - supporting people to access quality opportunities that meet individual need
Active places - Developing suitable infrastructure to support participation
Active together - working with others to support the development of and provision of opportunities. General Information
This page is a space for Active Merri-bek to share information with the community, and for community members to talk to Active Merri-bek and each other. We encourage you to use the page to get involved in conversations about physical activity in Merri-bek, and how we can make it better. Material posted on this page must not:
- Be defamatory, unlawful, obscene, abusive, threatening, harassing or hateful
- Be irrelevant - posts on the page must relate to
Active Merri-bek, Merri-bek or Merri-bek City Council, and comments must relate to the original post
- Infringe on the rights of any third party, including intellectual property or privacy rights
- Be posted, in the same form, more than once (i.e. spamming)
Council may delete posts or comments that violate these rules. Council will also delete any comments made by candidates on any of Council's social media pages. Candidates are not allowed to comment on any posts or respond to residents from a Merri-bek Council social media platform. Comments/posts/mentions made by members of the public on a Merri-bek City Council page that promote a candidate will also be deleted.
