Today is a Catastrophic fire danger day in our area. They don't happen very often so you need to listen to the warnings about how bad today might be. If you live in Alma, Simson, Adelaide lead, Flagstaff or Daisy Hill areas you reside in very high fire risk areas and you should be already enacting your fire safety plan. This can also be said for homes that are located on the fringe of Maryborough.
THINGS TO DO:
* ensure you have Vic Emergency App on your phone, and your phone is fully charged (you could lose power today)
* have other ways to get information. E.g Radio
* pack your emergency bag now (even if you don't plan on leaving)
* check in on vulnerable neighbours and let your family/friends know what your plan is
IF YOU DO NOTHING ELSE TODAY PLEASE REVIEW INFORMATION ON THE CFA WEBSITE

πŸŽ† There is nothing quite like looking at some fireworks while bringing in the new year, however, Victorians are advised to leave fireworks to licensed professionals this New Year’s Eve to prevent injuries, fires, and legal penalties.
CFA Chief Officer Jason Heffernan urges residents to consider the safety of their families, neighbours and community this festive season.
Illegal fireworks can lead to grass fires, property damage, and bushfires, requiring the attendance of emergency responders during celebrations in an already busy fire season
