Multiple agencies descended onto the Watagans late yesterday evening for a protracted search and rescue mission. The missing person and his dogs were finally located at around 3am in extremely challenging terrain. Due to morning fog, the Westpac Rescue helicopter could not be deployed to winch the patient out of the steep ledge he fell from. The Police Rescue Squad together with the VRA are at this time still making their way on foot to the location for a vertical rescue with special equipment.
