📚✨ That’s a wrap on Book Week 2026!

What a week (or, technically, a few weeks!) of stories, creativity, imagination and plenty of bookish fun at Randwick City Library.

From little readers discovering new worlds to older kids getting creative, meeting authors and celebrating their favourite stories, it’s been wonderful to see our libraries buzzing with young readers and their families.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, got involved and helped make this our biggest-ever Book Week celebration. 💛

And while this year’s theme has come to an end, our Children’s Team has already started brainstorming what we’re going to be wearing next year… 👀

We’d better start planning now. 😅📚

What a wonderful week celebrating Multicultural Health Week 2026 💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our diverse program of events, from exploring Japanese tea culture and navigating Australia's healthcare system, to learning about women's health, enjoying mindful craft activities, and moving together through music and dance.

This year's theme, 'Improving our mental health and wellbeing through physical activity', reminded us of the many ways we can support our wellbeing through learning, connection, creativity and movement.

📸 Throwback Thursday!

Let’s travel back to 1984, when the 9th Transport Regiment from Randwick had a very special assignment! 🚚✨

For one week, soldiers from the regiment dedicated their time to driving the Miss Australia contestants around Sydney. As a thank-you, Miss Victoria, Jeneene Clarke, gave Private Arthur Stuart a kiss on the cheek - much to the delight of his fellow soldiers! 💋😊

A wonderful snapshot of life in Randwick and a little piece of local history. ❤️

🎂✨ Welcome to The Land of Birthdays! 🌈🌳

We had a magical time stepping into a birthday world inspired by The Magic Faraway Tree! Children got creative making colourful paper party hats and teacups with saucers, designing DIY stickers to gift, and joining in the excitement of Pass the Parcel, where everyone went home with a present! 🎁✨

A very special shout-out to Ruby, who took our theme to the next level! 💕 She came in with her very own handmade The Magic Faraway Tree costume - how magical is that? 🌳✨ We absolutely loved seeing her creativity come to life!
