😀We're proud to share this post from our amazing Maroochydore SHS Parents and Citizen’s Association
Our Swannies Canteen is already a favourite with our students and staff, and it's wonderful to see our dedicated P&C team investing their time to learn, network and bring back fresh ideas to make it even better. Thank you to Jane, Kristina, Juluius and Kristy for your commitment to our school community. We can't wait to see the ideas and inspiration from the conference put into action at Swannies.

LEVEL UP ⤴️

This past weekend, our Treasurer Julius, Vice President Kristy, and Tuckshop Convenors Jane and Kristina had the privilege of attending the P&Cs Qld State Conference in Brisbane.

Over the course of the conference, we heard from inspiring speakers, attended informative workshops, and connected with P&C volunteers and school communities from across Queensland. We came away with fresh ideas, valuable insights, and plenty of inspiration to help strengthen our canteen and P&C initiatives.

Of course, it wasn't all work! We had a fantastic time letting our hair down at the H***y Tonk themed welcome night, dressing up in our best country-western outfits and sharing plenty of laughs. The celebrations continued at the Gala Dinner, providing a wonderful opportunity to network, celebrate achievements, and enjoy the company of fellow volunteers from across the state, creating wonderful memories and new connections along the way.

A big thank you to P&Cs Qld for hosting such a valuable, inspiring, and enjoyable event. We look forward to putting what we've learned into action!

Did you know?
Syntax relates to how words are organised to form clear and meaningful sentences.
As part of our Multilinguistic Word Study approach, students learn that meaning is not only shaped by individual words, but also by how those words are arranged.
Same words, different structure = different meaning.
Syntax connects with other areas of word study — including vocabulary, grammar and meaning — to support effective communication.
By studying syntax, students learn how to:
✔ organise ideas logically
✔ control sentence structure for clarity and effect
✔ recognise how sentence patterns influence meaning
✔ edit and refine their own writing
This helps students move beyond simple sentences and develop more precise and purposeful expression in their writing.
Understanding syntax helps students become more effective writers and more thoughtful readers of language.

💙💛 NATIONAL CHAPLAIN WEEK 💛💙

This week, we celebrate and acknowledge the incredible contribution of our Chaplain, Adam Rose, and the positive impact he has had on the Maroochydore State High School community. 🌟
