Year 3 Thylacines were highly engaged during their Word Origins session, making the most of our new morpheme tiles! They are building strong vocabulary skills, exploring word parts, and creatively constructing new words to deepen their understanding.

Last week, Year 6s had their first Japanese exchange video calls with Year 6s from Kurigaoko Primary School. The students from both schools prepared their self-introduction (jiko Shokai) and simple questions in preparation for the exchange. The students divided into 9 rotation groups where they had the opportunity to practise their Japanese and build connections while the Japanese students spoke English in return. After 5 mins the students rotated to another group which they then repeated with 5 different groups. We look forward to further developing our relationship with Kurigaiko Primary School at our next exchange.

This week, our Year 6 Leaders began hosting Monday Muster. Monday Muster is a short whole school gathering that connects us and builds a sense of belonging. We share weekly reminders, celebrate birthdays and students receive Golden Tickets for demonstrating MPS values. Well done to the Year 6s!

Week 7 at Margate Primary School! Please note that we have school photos on Tuesday and Thursday plus next Sunday (21st June) there is a Working Bee in the Prep Courtyard organised by the MPSA. 🐝

Kinder Koalas have been learning about farms and food. They had a conversation about what they already knew about farms followed by doing a mind map. They also read 'Potato People' by Pamela Allen. Then they explored peeling potatoes before sharing a potato and leek soup for lunch. Term 3 will be a focus on Dairy and then Grains in Term 4.

For the past week and a half, our Year 3-5 students have participated in the Swimming and Water Safety Program. These photos are from the 'wear clothes in the water' day with a focus on rescue and safety, plus demonstrating learned skills of floating and rescue strokes.

School Photos Tuesday 16th June and Thursday 18th June

School photos will be taken on Tuesday 16th and Thursday 18th June. Every student has an individual photo and class photo taken.

Student orders – There is no cut-off date; the ordering key remains valid until we go to print and will be available for 12 months after photo day.

Family/Sibling orders – These orders must be placed online by 4.30pm the day before Photo Day/s. After this time, online ordering closes. Families who miss the cut-off may still have a photo taken if time allows, but this is at the photographer’s discretion.

Late family order – Once photos are returned to the school, “second chance” bookmarks will be distributed so families can place late orders. Please note, late orders are charged at a higher price and will also incur postage fees.
