We consist of 27 volunteer members who all work as well as devoting many hours to the brigade: weekly training, skill refreshers, interagency training, public education and EMERGENCY Response. We Pride ourselves on providing a Professional Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service. We have been providing a Volunteer Emergency Service to the Community for over 64 years. We respond to Motor Vehicle Accidents,

Structural Fires, Hazardous Material Incidents (HAZMAT), Bushfires, Animal Rescue, Ambulance Assists and Special Service calls. We regularly work with Local Police, St John Ambulance Volunteers & the Community Paramedic. Which ones are we? The 'townies'. We are opposite the Police Station and next to Woolies. We are the district’s Primary Rescue Brigade, along With Augusta Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Busselton & Dunsborough Volunteer Fire & Rescue are our backup RESCUE brigades (motor vehicle accidents). The district also has 9 Volunteer Bushfire Brigades: Cowaramup, Witchcliffe, Wallcliffe, Rosa Brook, Alexandra Bridge, Karridale, Kudardup, East Augusta & Molloy Island. Cowaramup, Wallcliffe & Witchcliffe recently became Dual Registered Brigades. This means that they can now respond to Structural Fires as well as Bushfires. The town also has a State Emergency Service (SES) on Clarke Road. SES responds to Storm damage, missing person searches, Vertical rescue & more. All of these services come under the DFES banner, except the Bushfire brigades, who are managed by the Local Government.

🔥 75 Years of Service 🔥

This year marks 75 years since the Margaret River Volunteer Fire Brigade was formed.

On 17 December 1950, a group of locals sat down and made a simple decision:

From those first handwritten names on a page, a brigade was built.

75 years later, a lot has changed.

That’s the legacy we carry.

Over the coming months , we’ll be sharing pieces of our story, where we started, how we’ve evolved, and what it means to wear the uniform today.

Because this isn’t just history.

It’s who we are.
