This fortnightโ€™s serving: Fuel before you move! โšก

What you eat before exercise can make a big difference to your energy levels, performance and recovery. The key is choosing the right fuel at the right time.

30โ€“60 minutes before exercise:
๐ŸŒ Banana & nut butter
๐Ÿซ Yoghurt & berries
๐ŸŽ Fresh fruit or berries
๐Ÿž Jam or honey on toast
๐Ÿฅœ Dried fruit & nuts

2โ€“3 hours before exercise:
๐ŸŒฏ Chicken wrap
๐Ÿฅฃ Overnight oats
๐Ÿฅ‘ Eggs & avocado toast
๐Ÿฅฆ Stir fry

Hot tip: If you're training soon, choose lighter, easy-to-digest snacks. If you've got a few hours before your session, a balanced meal with carbohydrates, protein and healthy fats will help keep you energised.

The Margaret River Rec Centre is hosting the Margaret River Rumble underwater hockey carnival on Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June.

While the action heats up in the pool, thereโ€™ll be a few temporary changes to public access:

Saturday 6 June
๐Ÿšซ No public pool access 12.30pm โ€“ 5pm
โœ… Swimming lessons will still run as usual

Sunday 7 June
๐Ÿšซ No pool access 8am โ€“ 12pm

Weโ€™re a Watch Around Water pool, which means we work with families to keep children safe while they enjoy the water.

Our lifeguards are here to help in an emergency, but the biggest difference comes from parents staying close, watching actively and supervising their children at all times.

Confused about carbs? Letโ€™s clear the plate and bust some common myths!

๐Ÿž Carbs are not the enemy:
Carbs donโ€™t automatically lead to weight gain - overall balance, portion size and lifestyle matter most.

๐Ÿฅ— Skipping carbs isnโ€™t the answer:
Your body needs carbs for energy, especially for exercise, brain function and recovery. Cutting them out completely can leave you feeling flat.

โš–๏ธ Low-carb isnโ€™t always best:

๐Ÿ‘‹ Say hello to our new Hi-Lo class - where you can work at your own level, weather it be High energy or Low impact.
๐Ÿง˜ Weโ€™ve added more of our popular pilates classes.

Join us for another fun-filled pickleball tournament where the rallies are fast, the competition is friendly, and the prizes are worth it.
