🌟 Small School Secondary Experience Day – Monday 24 August 🌟

What a fantastic day we had welcoming our small school students to Mareeba State High School! 💙💛
Students enjoyed a range of fun and engaging sporting activities, led by our wonderful Year 10 HPE students, who did a fantastic job encouraging and getting everyone involved. 🏃‍♀️🏀⚽️

Our students also got to explore some exciting hands-on Science activities, assisted by our fantastic Year 11 Science Ambassadors. 🧪🔬
These were just some of the highlights from a busy day filled with many other classes, activities and opportunities to experience life at Mareeba State High School.

It was a fantastic day filled with learning, laughter, new experiences and plenty of fun! We loved having our future students on campus and giving them a taste of what MSHS has to offer.

A huge thank you to all of our Year 10 HPE students, Year 11 Science Ambassadors, Student Leaders and staff who helped make the day such a success! 👏

🤩We are excited to be offering a new opportunity for our year 🔟students.

💈Ignite Cuts Academy will be running a 10-week in-school barbering introduction program at MSHS, this is an opportunity to develop practical barbering skills while also building confidence, connection and engagement with school.

The program is very hands-on and will include:
✂️practical barbering skills and experience
✂️mentoring and support
✂️one session on campus each week
✂️exposure to potential future training and employment pathways.

⭐The focus is “more than haircuts” giving students an opportunity to learn skills, connect with positive mentors and potentially discover a pathway they may not have considered before. The longer-term aim is to create a pathway for interested students to undertake a Certificate III in Barbering in Years 11 and 12.

👀We are now looking for students who may be a good fit for the program.

Following on from Mareeba’s Multicultural Festival,
our Student Council is holding a mini multicultural event on:
📆Friday 11 September
🕞From 3:30pm and 6pm
📍MSHS hall

🤩There will be performers, activities, and food available to purchase. There is also a colouring in competition with prizes for the best entries in each category.
⚠️Entries are due by Wednesday 9th September.

💛R U OK Day at MSHS💛

📅Thursday 10th September

🟡Mareeba State High School is hosting a yellow free dress day and lunchtime activities on Thursday 10th September to help raise awareness for R U OK day.

🟡Bring a gold coin donations for free dress day to raise funds for R U OK.

💛By fundraising we hope to help R U OK spread their message to every classroom across Australia and make sure that people of all ages feel connected and protected from su***de.
