💛🤝 Celebrating National Day of Connection 🤝💛

Yesterday at Mareeba Community Centre, we celebrated the National Day of Connection with our wonderful Wellbeing Group, coming together for creativity, conversation, laughter and friendship.

Connection is at the heart of strong communities, and today was a beautiful reminder of how important it is to take time to connect with one another, share stories and support each other.

A special highlight of the day was celebrating the birthday of a very special member of our community, Glenda! 🎂🎉 We hope you had a wonderful day surrounded by friendship, smiles and good wishes.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. Every conversation, every shared experience and every act of kindness helps build stronger connections and stronger communities. 💜

Our Wellbeing Group meets fortnightly on Wednesdays, and we always welcome new members.

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference in your community?

Mareeba Community Centre is seeking a Part-Time Public Transport Driver to join our Community Transport team and help connect people with essential services, appointments, social activities and community events.

📍 Location: Mareeba
⏰ Position: Part-Time
💰 Award: Passenger Vehicle Transportation Award – Grade 2

About the Role

As a Public Transport Driver, you will:
✔️ Safely transport passengers throughout the community
✔️ Assist passengers, including those with mobility challenges
✔️ Provide friendly and professional customer service
✔️ Conduct vehicle inspections and basic maintenance reporting
✔️ Follow routes and schedules accurately
✔️ Respond calmly and effectively in unexpected situations

About You

You will have:
✅ An unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
✅ Driver Authorisation (DA) or willingness to obtain
✅ Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
✅ Working with Children Blue Card
✅ Strong commitment to safety and compliance
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
