💙 What a night! The 3rd Bi-Annual Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice Gala Dinner.

A MASSIVE thank you to the 200 amazing people who came out to learn about and support the work of the Manly Hospice.

Thank you to wonderful supporters of the night for digging deep and helping us raise $100k for the Hospice.

And, to our special guest - Her Excellency the Governor of New South Wales.

💙 Thank you to the volunteers and staff of the Northern Beaches Women's Shelter 💙

We do not often speak about our why. We tend to let the work we do show that.

Every now and then someone outside our walls puts into words what we are trying to do inside them.

In February, our James Griffin MP addressed the 58th Parliament of New South Wales and spoke about Northern Beaches Women's Shelter in a way that moved our whole team.

He spoke about our purpose, not just providing a bed for the night, but supporting women to rebuild their lives and regain independence. He acknowledged our volunteers and named the gap between what we can offer and what is needed. James reminded parliament that demand continues to outpace capacity.
We feel that every day.

We are so grateful for advocates like James who understand that this work is not simple, and who choose to stand behind it anyway.

As we approach the end of financial year, we are asking our community to stand behind it too.

Every contribution before 30th June goes directly to the women and children we support on the Northern Beaches.

We are going to CUT payroll tax.

We’ll raise the payroll tax threshold from $1.2 million to $1.5 million, reduce the payroll tax rate for thousands of businesses and introduce CPI indexation to stop bracket creep.

These changes will remove around 4,000 businesses from the payroll tax system altogether and help thousands more keep more of what they earn so they can invest, hire and grow.

We’ll also restore certainty for business by repealing Labor’s union spy powers laws, doubling funding for Business Connect and backing policies that lower energy costs.

Because a stronger economy means more jobs, and a stronger future for New South Wales.

🇦🇺 The spiritual and strategic home of Australia’s Army and Defence forces should not be ‘For Sale’.

The sale of the site is a disastrous decision and should be stopped.

To sell Victoria Barracks would be to trade nearly two centuries of sacrifice, service and national memory for a short-term financial gain. It will leave future generations poorer in ways that can never be measured in dollars.

I’m proud to stand beside colleagues from across the political spectrum to campaign against the sale.

As Patron of the Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter, it was my pleasure to say a few words in support of their enormous efforts at the recent annual Gala Dinner.

The Shelter rely heavily on the support of people right across our community.
