You asked…and we listened! 🌱

Bookings for 200 households to receive free native plant seedlings went so quickly that we went back to the nursery to double check how many plants we had. The good news is that we have plenty – enough to open up another 100 spots for another 100 households to receive 10 native plant seedlings for free!

If you missed out the first time, now’s your chance – grab your spot before they’re gone again.

🌱 Plants must be collected on Saturday 13 June from the Two Wells Village Green, during your booked time
🌱 Plants on offer are native to our region and sourced locally
🌱 Stock is limited and booking is required
Book now: https://events.humanitix.com/apc-native-plant-giveaway-2026

This year’s plants have been grown by the Two Wells Community Nursery.

Earlier this week, as part of National Reconciliation Week, we hosted a basket weaving workshop with Vicki Harman, Ngarrindjeri woman and Senior Cultural Training & Development Officer with Tauondi Aboriginal College.
Community members, volunteers, parents, children and young people, school staff and council staff came together to learn traditional weaving techniques and connect with Aboriginal culture in a hands-on and respectful way.
A heartfelt thank you to Auntie Vicki for generously sharing her knowledge, and to everyone who participated.

šŸ‘‰Keep an eye out for future community workshops and opportunities to connect.

Council elections occur every four years and with the next election coming later this year, now is the time to make sure you’re enrolled and have your voice heard when it comes time to vote.

It only takes a minute to enrol or update your details on the South Australian Election roll which will close on 31 July 2026.

Council elections are different to state and federal ones, in that the ballot paper is posted to you. This is why it’s important to check before the enrolment roll closes!

You may also be eligible to vote through Council’s Supplementary Roll if you own property, rent, run a business or represent an organisation within Adelaide Plains Council, but do not live in the area.

Our draft plan for the next 12 months is here – the Draft Annual Business Plan & Budget 2026/2027 šŸ“

This is our key annual operational and financial planning document, describing the services and projects we plan to deliver, and how they will be financed – including information about rates.

Council has developed a plan for the next 12 months which will ensure we can continue to maintain services and assets for our ever-expanding community. Your feedback towards this document is important, and you can comment on any part of the draft.

Features of this year’s plan include:
— All day-to-day services and programs will continue to be delivered
— $4.19million capital works program focused on asset renewal and maintenance, including 42km of road resheeting and 6km of road resealing
— Continuing our youth development program to support the wellbeing and skills of young people
— $25,000 for our Adelaide Plains Community Grants to support local community projects
— Sealing 3.3km of Thompson Beach, 100% funded by the State Government
— Improvements to the Lewiston Playground, including softfall and shade
— Street tree planting in Dublin, Mallala and Two Wells
We’re proposing to continue the 2.8% rates cap for the majority of ratepayers, where the valuation increase is not the result of development on the property, to reduce unreasonable hardship.
