Training on Sunday was held at Cann Valley Brigade. We investigated the best locations to gain water: Big Fill Pump access points and reticulated supplies. We went over the maths to work out % of fire involved building or building and contents, closed pump pressure of the reticulated supply and updated some BA skills maintenance. We reconvened at Cann Valley station for a BBQ lunch. 15 members from 3 Brigades; Mallacoota, Bemm River & Cann Valley attended the training. ๐Ÿš’

I would like to thank my Mallacoota Brigade volunteers; the operational, the non operational and those that give what they can, when they can to our community.
Also all agencies and organisations that give countless hours that many do not see to keep our community moving forward.
Thank you.

Today's training was on the Low Voltage Fuse Removal (LVFR) trailer as well as Breathing Apperatus (BA) skills maintenance. Members from Mallacoota and Cann Valley Brigades updated their skills for both qualifications. Being able to remove the low voltage fuse from from a structure is a critical safety measure for fire fighting operations. The trailer is a realistic simulation of the different fuse types and power boards we may encounter. Our BA skills saw us lift a weight up onto the deck of the Tanker and safely lower it on the otherside using ropes. We also ran through water patterns and water signals as well as our RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) procedures. A BBQ lunch followed with much discussion generated by the training. ๐Ÿš’ ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Today we recognise those who's duty it is to run towards danger when others are told to leave.

On International Firefighter Day, we thank our incredible CFA members and all of those who protect communities in times of crisis and every day in between.

Your courage, commitment and care don't go unnoticed.

Mallacoota Fire Brigade members attended the ANZAC Day commemoration at the historic Bunker Museum.
We walked into the Bunker behind the Mallacoota Pony Club riders to join our sister Emergency Service Agencies, Returned Service Personnel and community members to remember the fallen, whom we can thank for the way of life we enjoy today.
A tremendous effort by many to put together a special commemoration with a uniquely Mallacoota vibe.

Our new change room build has started. ๐Ÿฅณ
Mallacoota Fire Brigade is having new change rooms built. Works started on April 1st and things are coming along nicely.๐Ÿ‘Œ We will have 3 cubicles and 30 hooks to hang our fire fighting PPC with plenty of room for new members. No more getting changed in the corner of the engine bay behind the trucks.๐Ÿš’
