Our reserve came alive over the weekend with over 1,600 people, numerous cars and 15 buses. This was a marvellous occasion in the life of our village, and we were able to provide the venue for such a well-organised event. This was organised by students from various colleges, and they are to be complimented. The grounds and facilities were immaculately cleaned up by late Saturday afternoon.

Majors Creek Recreation Ground has been selected as a semi-finalist in the Crown Land Manager Excellence Award.

Final judging will be on 15th October 2025

Last night our Recreation Hall was broken into, causing some minor damage. We were very fortunate that Lynda noticed something wasn’t right and raised the alarm — thank you, Lynda, for your quick thinking. 🙏

Police attended the scene and the matter is now under investigation. While it’s disappointing that these things happen in a small community like ours, today showed the true spirit of Majors Creek. 💛

A big shout-out to everyone who turned up this morning to help with the clean-up. It’s moments like this that remind us we’re a community that cares and together we always pull through. 💪🌿

Weather Permitting.

We will conduct a Notified Pile Burn (BN0068572) at the Rec Ground this Saturday morning.

Members of the land managers will be in attendance to supervise this with a truck and a full load of water, and a Positrack (bobcat).

We have a Burn notification in effect from 16-5-2025 until 06-06-2025.

We will be cleaning up the grounds after a dead tree removal.

We took delivery of a water tank this morning; it will soon be connected. This will supply more water to the users of the grounds.

The Majors Creek Recreation Reserve Land Managers met as a new Board for the first time last week. We welcomed new members Matt Darwon and Scott Hart and acknowledged the large contributions of our retiring members Tony Moore and Craig Willoughby.

The meeting Agenda was very full and we discussed many items including:
• Feedback from the Music Festival – we are considering how we make these changes/upgrades
• The veranda restoration and opening event – acknowledged the Braidwood Community Bank’s funding and the community and dignitaries will be invited to attend an opening event
• Coin operated BBQ – the BBQ near the tennis courts will be upgraded to become coin operated.
• Update from Majors Creek Progress Association
• Car Boot Sale
• Our Licence Agreement and ongoing relationships with other community groups including RFS, CWA and Seniors Morning Tea.
